I got the Crystal Caste mixx and it seemed to have alot of D20s and D10s and alot of duplicates. I think the Chessexx has a better mixx. or you could do what I did and just get both, but ofcourse I got yelled at by my wife who really wanted to know why I needed 2 pounds of Dice and where in the hell I was going to keep them.

Did you find an alarming number of faulty dice on your mix?   What about the crystal castle one? It doesent say if its made of factory seconds or not? How was the selection there? Also, it says that it includes a dwarven stone dice, did you get one? Thanks a lot!

Did you find an alarming number of faulty dice on your mix?  Naw I didnt notice any faulty dice, there was maybe some very minor defects like bubbles in some of the clear dice. Over all it was a pretty god mix, lots of unusal colored dice and mixed colors.   What about the crystal castle one? It doesent say if its made of factory seconds or not? How was the selection there? Yes I did get a dwarven stone one, a d10, its smaller than averge dice and a little difficult to read at times, I also got a few of their crystal dice which look pretty cool. I think the chessex had a better mixx, the Crystal Caste seemed to give me alot more of d20s and d10s and quite a few d6s but the chessex on had lots of d6s too, I think i have about 100 d6s now after getting both pounds. The quality of the dice is good in both sets, but I think the chessex had more variety. But really go with what you want, theyre both decent deals, and of course you have no real idea what you would be getting, which makes like Christmas! I would post some pics of what I got, but I havnt a clue now which ones I got from which set. If youre looking for some one to make your mind up for you, I still say go with the Chessex, you get at least one matching set. If you dont care about having a matching set and just want a bunch of random dice then go with the crystal caste one. I didnt get the one with the stocking though I got the one with a skull dice bag, pretty cool bag.
#6 Mad_Jack Nov 08, 2009 6:52:55	From what I've seen (having only looked at three or four bags), most of the Chessex dice seem to have been "seconded" due to the colors being screwed up - you get a lot of them that are half blue and half red, or have variations in their color across the die, etc... Some of them aren't real pretty. Kind of a dealbreaker for me, but I'm sort of picky about having pretty dice, lol. But I haven't really seen any dice that looked like they had any sort of physical defects or casting faults that would affect how they rolled. I'm not familiar with the other company's dice.

The problem is that most of the reviews are very negative. Has anyone bought this product? or had any experience with it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks!   Yeah thats the one I got. I think its the same as the stocking offer but you get the skull bag instead. Its a pretty good sized bag and looks pretty kool. It had more of a blah mixx, aside from the crystal shaped ones and the tiny dwarven stone one, theyre all pretty standard dice. The chessex one had more of a mixx to it IMO, and had more interesting colored dice. I still say go with the chessex it has more variety IMO... but that skull bag is pretty sweet. Sorry Im not helping am i?
