Sounds familiar. AT&T is still trying to collect for internet months after they were told repeatedly to turn my **** off. All attempts to resolve it through their customer service have failed. Another company decided that since a credit card (not a regular one that someone would steal, this was one of those oddly specific ones, in this case for veterinary bills) that had a zero balance and hadn't been used in years we clearly needed to make a $500 payment.

I had a friend who was being charged for a modem by AT&T. He didn't even have internet service with them.

I used to contract for Comcast.  A lot of installers would open up cable and internet accounts for their own personal use, using people that didn't have Comcast accounts.  They would do this if they had outstanding balances or if they were worried about not being able to pay.

That's ok I'm paying for 150mb internet but my typical download speeds are about 100 with spikes going up to 200 and down to 10. Nothing you can do because a lawsuit wouldn't make you more money than you spent at this point...

I have Comcast.
About 4 times a year they piss me off, and I have to call.
Otherwise... no problemo....
