| #2pigknightJul 02, 2010 21:51:47 | If it's only for you it shouldn't matter. Just use groups. They're normally found it groups. |
| #3sincubusJul 03, 2010 4:21:16 | Thanks, I didn't really knew that for 100%, i'm glad its legal then! |
| #4pigknightJul 03, 2010 13:29:41 | Albino chicks Y/N? |
| #5ADHadhJul 03, 2010 14:15:54 | ![]() Sorry, couldn't find an albino one. I am interested in the card game rules. I see you've used MtG frames? |
| #6sincubusJul 04, 2010 13:33:06 | The rules are being worked on, when I finish the entire game (monsters, items, natural disasters, board hazards, traps, spells, heroes, apocalypse beasts and potion cards) I will post it on this thread to ask if its nice or terrible bad. :-p The difficult thing is the damage the monsters do and with their special powers... it pretty hard to make that matching... I'm planning on making cards for all the first monster manual (4e) monsters first and add the 2nd and 3rd (and extra monsters missing from monster manuals) in later expansions. Of course not all monsters will make a card, my personal dislikes (cambion, Hobgoblin, tiefling) will not be included of course, they are too much like other monsters. And I used the cards from MTG because they seem to have beautiful frames for the monsters, pokemon card were kinda childish as wel ;) |

No hobgoblins? This is gonna suck. No, seriously, add hobgoblins. Use them as mooks with higher defence than usual mooks, give them an ability similar to MtG flanking or bushido or remove them so they can be fodder compared to gnolls or orcs or something, but add hobgoblins. |
| #8sincubusJul 04, 2010 15:51:37 | The problem with this-only-famous-D&D-monsters-I-will-probably-leave-out-of-the-game is that they have NOTHING special on them... Dinosaur trainers are with the troglodytes... orcs are savage war-like humanoids and I really can't make ANYTHING up for them in special-move terms... all creatures have a unique special move, but I really don't have the fantasy to give them anything unique... probably because I hate them for being so boring... a human mixed with goblin... what uniqueness is that? I will probably add them anyway, as some kind of joke piss-pole thing that will be killed at the first turn anyway. Give me lamia's, sphinxes, yuan-ti's, oni's, orcs, genies, yeti's, and even centipede scutters and I do magic with them... but hobgoblins are too damn boring for me, same with grimlocks (which are stronger than a sea kraken?!?) and tieflings. But atleast grimlocks are blind, so they have something special with them, and I actually like the movie descent so they are in anyway. Tieflings are so unbelievable boring as monsters, but one of my female heroes is a tiefling so they are in anyway. But Hobgoblins rock if you compare them to half-elves and half-orcs the creatures that really spoiled 4 spots in the monster manual 2, nothing will make me put in those horrible abominations... why not create half-minotaurs and half-medusa's or half-dwarves too? BLEH! BTW, my game won't be anything like MtG, I want to do something that has never been done before. EDIT These are all the cards I already have made, and this are only the monsters... There isn't any spot left for Hobgoblin. ![]() |
| #9ADHadhJul 05, 2010 4:32:40 | I have to warn you that I am a hobgoblin fanboy beforehand. Now, to me what makes hobgoblins special is that, unlike all the other heroic tier humanoids, they're not savage. Where orcs, gnolls or kobolds form tribes or warrens, hobgoblins form legions. They're known for their superior tactics and discipline. For instance, using MtG terminology Hobgoblin commander When Hobgoblin commander is in the field, when two or more of your creatures block a single creature, they gain first strike. |
