Since the new commodore apparently runs Linux or Windows I doubt it´ll run old games off the bat... unless you install the Emulator on it anyway
Looks cool though. Might also be interesting for people who want a cheap computer by the sound of it, plenty of people don´t need the kind of hardware that´s minimum purchase these days and would be quite happy with a $250 machine that does everything they want to do instead of one twice or more as expensive that doesn´t do anything extra.
I used it for writing my reports and papers in college. There was a great set of compatable programs that allowed me to use spreadsheet, database, and word processing. I had a 1571 disk drive (5/1/4") and a dot-matrix printer that had draft mode and NLQ (Near Letter Quality) mode, which made my reports look quite nice, almost as if they had been written on a typewriter. I would loved to have bought a 1581 disk drive (3.5"), but it didn't happen soon enough.
Damn, now I feel old.
If you want to play old commodore games you can just get an Emulator and download all the games free. I´ve done that once at work, we held a little competition with various Commodore games. Was fun.

Lots and lots of good times on that Commodore.
And yeah Pool of Radiance was a great one too, I remember back when my mom got that one for me, I was like mom! D&D is for nerds! but I ended up playing it anyway and loved it, I must of played it for a year before I realized that there was a quest you was supposed to be completing, I was just having fun exploring and killing things and taking their stuff! That game got me into D&D and the Forgotten Realms, been into it ever since.
Another one that I liked was called Trapdoor, based off a british show of the same name, it was weird, both the game and the show was, I think thats why I liked it, it was different, you know? It was a little hard to follow for me, the point of the game was to make various meals for the thing upsatirs, like steamed slimies or whatever, so not only do you have to figure out what a slimie is but you have to figure out how to steam it too! And of course there was the Trap Door, sometimes you needed to open it to let something out to get something you needed, but ussually something dreadful would come out that would try to eat you. It amused me greatly to make Berk (the main character) fall into the Trap Door, to which the Thing upstairs would say, @Silly, Suicidal Berk@ Hahaha I dunno why but that just cracked me up, it was even my catch phrase for awhile.
Another one I played alot of was Sex Games, but I wont go into detail about that one for possible CoC violations.
Really brings me back, Im gonna have to do download that emulator now and play some of these games! chances are they wont be as great as I remember them.
