Hey, I never said anything about rap or rappers to indicate that I think that it is an inheritantley illegitimate form of music, nor did I say anything to disparage the potential of rap as an intelligent, thought provoking form of music. But the fact is, I DO hate it. I don't like the way it sounds, I don't identify with the musicians, I don't identify with the culture and the message is not in a form that is palatable to me. I'm not making any judgements about rap, what it is, who performs it or who listens to it. But I would be lying if I said I didn't hate it.
