Jun 09, 2013 12:06:03 Attention gamers! The Supreme Court of Gaming is now in session! What is this institution you ask? Quite simply, the Court is a place for gamers to bring their rules disputes for impartial resolution. You simply submit your case with all relevant rules references to our email address at supremecourtofgaming@gmail.com, or via our Facebook page, here. If you check out the main page and decide you like it, you can like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter @SCofGaming for the latest updates on the state of the Court and when new cases are posted. More info and full submission guidelines are available in the about section of the blog. If you like the page, be sure to send in your cases, too. This concept is going to need user submissions to thrive. The more you submit, the more I can post!

I am aware that Wizards has people in their customer service department who answer rules questions, but the Supreme Court of Gaming does strive to maintain some advantages over them. For example:

-The Court's decisions offer the most in-depth rules consideration and rulings possible. If there is a facet of the rules pertaining to your case, I will discuss it in the ruling and provide my reasoning as to whether it applies or not, and how it should apply.

-The Supreme Court of Gaming's jurisdiction is much broader than that of Wizards Customer Service. Many of you probably play games other than those produced by Wizards of the Coast. I am not employed by or affiliated with any game company, so I can offer up rulings on whatever tabletop game you happen to be playing, even ones produced by companies too small to have a dedicated customer service department.

-Consistency. Different people have different opinions, or there wouldn't be rules disputes in the first place. Because Wizards is a big enough company to have numerous Customer Service employees, sometimes their rules decisions can seem to conflict. The Supreme Court of Gaming is run entirely by me, the Chief Justice, so I have a much easier time keeping my rulings consistent with each other.

Please note that I am not trying to malign or put down Wizards' Customer Service team. I'm sure they're all good people who work hard at their jobs to provide you with the best support possible and they are a good resource for rules questions. I'm only asking that you consider me as an alternative when you want a different perspective, a second opinion, or a first opinion on a game not made by WotC.

Jun 09, 2013 17:38:05 That was like the first thing I did before posting anything was deciding on an avatar, although at the time you had to pick what gleemax offered, as I recall I went with the cover of the old grey Forgotten Realms box set, once they switched to derpsite and let us choose custom ones, I went with this guy

anybody remember him? Its from the cover of Ars Magica, second edition I beleive, it was the forerunner of Vampire, Werewolf, ect, ect. , And was also the very first RPG I actually bought.

Jun 09, 2013 18:18:26 My avatar for a long time was one of the standard ones. It was a red dragon flying over some mountains. Now I can't find that one.

I did some painting on the old bugbear headreaver miniature I had lying around today.
Who knew a simple wash makes some those look a lot better?
