| #1EscherEnigmaNov 30, 2010 19:01:07 | So anyone else think that some Christmas Carols are just downright creepy or sinister sounding? I'm not necessarily talking about the words (though some of them toe the line on that mark too) but just the sound of them. Take God Rest ye Merry Gentleman for example... even without people playing tricks with the key or tone to make it sound off, it's always given me a slightly sinister vibe. Any other Christmas songs that sound off to people? |
| #2KlirshonNov 30, 2010 19:06:38 | That Christmas song by Paul McCartney for which I will not name. It is sinister to my audiobanks as I have trouble deleting the record. |
| #3Mad_JackNov 30, 2010 19:23:01 | Take God Rest ye Merry Gentleman for example... < starts randomly humming verses > Hello, My name is Fox Mulder, I'm with the FBI... And I like chasing aliens cuz I'm a creepy guy... Strange sightings of two-headed boys, two-headed boys Strange sightings of two-headed boys... Elvis is alive and well, he lives in Illinois And Jimmy Hoffa has a job making children's toys... Strange sightings of two-headed boys, two-headed boys Strange sightings of two-headed boys... |

| #6boraxeDec 01, 2010 12:00:57 | The one with the kid singing about his "two front teeth" is like nails on a blackboard to me. |
| #7zombie_babiesDec 01, 2010 12:05:31 | I always thought Silent Night when performed in German was pretty creepy. |

... Is that a Kristallnacht joke? |
| #9Mad_JackDec 02, 2010 2:47:51 | Actually, I'm kind of fond of the German version of Silent Night... Silent Night is one of the few traditional Christmas songs I actually enjoy. It's the more upbeat, festive songs that make me gnash my teeth. |
| #10zombie_babiesDec 02, 2010 9:52:29 | ... Actually, no. It just sounds creepy on its own - no Nazi help required. |

Silent Night performed in German is not as creepy as other German christmas songs like Ihr Kinderlein kommet or Kling Glöckchen klingelingeling. |
| #12eratoDec 03, 2010 18:00:50 | I've always found Carol of the Bells rather sinister. Beautiful but sinister. I don't think I'm the only one, considering there is a Lovecraftian version of it. Then again, fanboys/girl can make anything sound sinister |
| #13EscherEnigmaDec 04, 2010 11:16:26 | Ok, that German Silent Night is pretty terrifying. And I think the Carol of the Bells is higher on the sinister factor then Carol of Chthulhu. |
| #14Dark_StrykeDec 05, 2010 0:37:08 | Merry Christmas, from Chiron Beta Prime Where we're working in a mine For our robot overlords Did I say overlords? I meant protectors So merry Christmas, from Chiron Beta Prime! |

Yeah, that's a creepy one, too. I totally forgot about it - which makes no sense whatsoever as I'm constantly exposed to Christmas music at work. Heh. |
| #16toastedamphibianDec 06, 2010 20:08:14 | I keep expecting to hear the trans siberan orchestra's version of the bell carol on a comercial for some fighting game or something. |
| #17Mad_JackDec 06, 2010 23:18:34 | I think I'd buy the game just for that reason.... |
| #18jesse.two.coinsDec 07, 2010 6:41:39 | the warhammer one went hard in the paint. ![]() |
