Hello people,


I'm just wondering if I'm the only person who (as a non-subscriber) is noticing that for many of the picture galleries, there is no more full picture, but merely a piece of the picture?


Does anyone know if this is just a glitch or something that is a non-subscriber thing?

All WotC art has been moved behind the DDI paywall.

It seems like they're moving everything to DDI exclusivity these days. Most of the front page articles can only be seen if you shell out more money than it's worth.

It is kinda going both ways for them... more money is good.
But if I can't even preview things anymore or cannot download tidbits of Art, I will not be visiting their site as often, and won't know of additional products they published and sure won't get a DDi subscription without knowing what I get.

I totally understand that the business model has to change a bit and must adapt to the market but it is disappointing to me.

It seems to me that Wizards is under the impression that everyone is a DDI subscriber.


Honestly, I rarely even use their site anymore. I currently only check it for the artwork on the Penny Arcade/PvP/Will Wheaton podcasts.


I am getting more D&D stuff and help from sites like DungeonMastering.com, Roleplayingtips.com, etc.


The only Wizards stuff I now use are the books which I need to use to play D&D.


It is also now impossible to navigate the old 3.5 website. Well, not really, but it's definately harder to use.


I still am not sure how people thought that the old web-site was unnavigable.

Yeah, not much point of checkign their art galleries anymore.  If I want a preview of the art from new books I either hope I happen upon it while I'm browsing artist galleries (you might be surprised how many professional artists post their work to DA) or hope it gets pimped on Art Order (blog of the D&D Art Director).
