| #1rizen_isstaria_dupSep 24, 2008 22:38:47 | So I was wondering if anybody has any D&D tattoos, or has any they want to get ? I have a female friend who has a tattoo of Lolth and Eilistraee. I have a tattoo of Drizzt and Guenhwyvar http://risenisstaria.deviantart.com/art/Drizzt-and-Guenhwyvar-tattoo-89429744 . I also would like a small tattoo of one of my pink D20's, dubbed the Pink Balls of Fury, feared by DM's and players everywhere. |
| #2baneofelvesSep 24, 2008 22:46:45 | Well, an ass I know that runs insanely hard games has a tattoo of a crossed out d20. That count? (I think his tattoo is a warning) |

| #4baneofelvesSep 25, 2008 0:37:09 | He's really not scary. He's more like MY NPC WARBLADE/ETERNAL BLADE CAN DEAL 83475489236598256928569234 POINTS OF DAMAGE IN ONE ROUND!!! Basically, he has his uber npc's do everything while you get to be the NPC's pincushion or cheerleader. He actually managed to make a character that killed the aspect of Atropus in one round, due to the abuse of the Eternal Blade PrC and the Diamond Mind Discipline. He's the reason I hate ToB. Odd thing is, I still bought it. Guess I just have to collect all D&D books. |
| #5KillerGMSep 25, 2008 1:59:36 | Check out this thread, complete with link to Hellcow's tattoo page! |
| #6rizen_isstaria_dupSep 25, 2008 2:13:11 | Check out this thread, complete with link to Hellcow's tattoo page! Nice, those make awesome tattoos. |
| #7braveboudicaSep 25, 2008 3:43:14 | I've drawn a beholder that I'm going to get on my arm. It's kinda cool. I've been thinking of posting it along with some other stuff in the art forum. |
| #8aran_kellSep 26, 2008 6:09:05 | this is one that's had some revisions. I won't get it until I'm completely happy with it:![]() the head starts at my wrist, and wraps around my forearm. the tail stops at the inside of my elbow. I like the head, but the main body still bothers me. |
| #9rizen_isstaria_dupSep 26, 2008 10:39:39 | this is one that's had some revisions. I won't get it until I'm completely happy with it: Wow thats awesome. |
| #10aran_kellSep 26, 2008 12:32:30 | Wow thats awesome. thanks. ^_^ |
| #11zombie_babiesSep 26, 2008 13:35:32 | Is there a way you can add the arms and legs to the other side or would that be too difficult to incorporate? I bet if you could pull that off you'd be happier with the body. Either way, very cool. ;) |
| #12dirtyfrankSep 26, 2008 18:54:08 | It may look better if the perspective of the dragon was changed. I think it would look cool if the dragon looked as if it was crawling down the arm. |
| #13farmer42_dupSep 29, 2008 4:16:47 | Kinda off-topic, but not quit- Rizen, I do believe I saw you at A-Cen. Did you do any interviews with the press gang? The tattoo looks really nice. We need some more gamer-pride at the Con. |

| #15shamurai7Sep 29, 2008 12:56:13 | heh heh here is my black dragon tattoo... |
| #16farmer42_dupSep 29, 2008 13:31:55 | I was Rukia from Bleach (with the cloak) and also a ninja. Probably saw me, I was all over the place. I hear they have a D&D room, but I can never find it. Yeah, it's at the very bottom of the hotel, the opposite hallway from the arcade. August Hahn was there this year, and did a great seminar on mudular campaign building. |
| #17farmer42_dupSep 30, 2008 4:41:02 | Sorry for the double post, but where'd you get your ink done, Rizen? I'm only going to school up here, I'm actually from down Evansville way, so I don't know any good shops. N. Ind isn't that bad a trip for a trustworthy, quality ink shop. |
| #18_jayne_cobb_Sep 30, 2008 13:43:50 | Being a fan of irony I want a tatoo that reads "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28)" |
| #19KillerGMSep 30, 2008 14:22:11 | Being a fan of irony I want a tatoo that reads "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28)" But you should totally get it in Chinese or something. LOL. :P |
| #20baneofelvesSep 30, 2008 21:54:20 | heh heh here is my black dragon tattoo... |
| #21rizen_isstaria_dupSep 30, 2008 23:16:23 | Being a fan of irony I want a tatoo that reads "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28)" What the ?? It seems I have a black cloud following me around.. Yes Leviticus 19:28 is an old testament tradition. All of my tattoos are over a year old, before I became a christians, actually as of my current state I but merely study the bible. There is a curtain faith that I study with and attent meetings on Sundays. Know that if your going to try and use the bible against me, you better be a faithful person or you make The Word of God invalid and there for pointless. Also helpful tips for you, Luke 6:37 " Moreover, stop judging and you will by no means be judged and stop condemning, and you with by no means be condemned. Keep on releasing and you will be released". James 2: 13 : "For the one that does not practice mercy with have his judgment without mercy. Mercy exults triumphantly over judgment". James 5 :15 "And the prayer of faith with make the indisposed one well and Jehovah will raise him up. Also, if he has committed sins it will be forgiven him". |

There is a curtain faith that I study with and attent meetings on Sundays. Let me try to help here: _Jayne_Cobb_ was saying that he would get a tattoo that said that because he is a fan of irony. Meaning, he'd get a tattoo of a passage prohibiting tattoos (how ironic!). I'm pretty sure he wasn't judging you, just expressing his sense of humor. |
| #23farmer42_dupOct 01, 2008 4:26:52 | Don't worry about it, Rizen. As far as doctrine goes, tattoos are kosher. A large part of what Christ did was look at Levitican and Deuteronimical Law and go with the proverbial, "Dude, wtf?" This is why most Christians eat shrimp, lobster, pork, bear, shark, alligators, and much much more. Ironically, this is the same reason that a lot of modern Jews do, too. Many of the laws contained therein were strictly to create an identity for the Jews, a standard of Jewishness, as it were, and have no logical theological grounds otherwise. What the ?? | #24_jayne_cobb_Oct 01, 2008 9:03:33 | Know that if your going to try and use the bible against me What makes you think what I posted has anything to do with you? |
| #25rizen_isstaria_dupOct 01, 2008 10:49:53 | What makes you think what I posted has anything to do with you? Oh just some people follow me around after I've mentioned something remotely religious in other treads. I just thought it abit off that you'd get a religious tattoo after you've posted "as there is no God", *shrugs*. If you want a tattoo go for it, I just think that getting a tattoo that pretty much says don't get tattoos a bit of an oxymoron. |
| #26_jayne_cobb_Oct 01, 2008 11:06:10 | Oh just some people follow me around after I've mentioned something remotely religious in other treads. Good for you. I am not one of them. I respond to posts, not posters, and I've better things to do than "follow you around". I just thought it abit off that you'd get a religious tattoo after you've posted "as there is no God", *shrugs*. I have a dragon tattoo and there are no dragons. What is your point? If you want a tattoo go for it, Already have done, several times. I just think that getting a tattoo that pretty much says don't get tattoos a bit of an oxymoron. That would be the irony I mentioned. |
| #27rizen_isstaria_dupOct 01, 2008 11:38:24 | Good for you. I am not one of them. I respond to posts, not posters, and I've better things to do than "follow you around". People get religious tattoos because they believe in god, if you don't wouldn't that be just a little bit cheesy if you don't believe ? People get tattoos of things they like, like dragons. I have a tattoo of Drizzt becase I'm a big fan and reading those books is what got me interested in playing D&D.Religious tattoos much different then regular tattoos. Wouldn't it sound silly if I said that I got this Drizzt tattoo because I believe in him? |
| #28_jayne_cobb_Oct 01, 2008 12:07:13 | People get religious tattoos because they believe in god, if you don't wouldn't that be just a little bit cheesy if you don't believe Yes, and I like irony. Seriously, what part of this is giving you trouble? Religious tattoos much different then regular tattoos. Nope. Ink is ink. You get it cos of what it means to you, not to anyone else. Wouldn't it sound silly if I said that I got this Drizzt tattoo because I believe in him? Yes, but the silly part is believing that Drizzt is real. That's not the point, however. It was you who suggested that getting a tattoo based on something that does not exist is wrong, not I. By your own reasoning you should not have got a Drizzt tattoo because he is fictional. |
| #29rizen_isstaria_dupOct 01, 2008 12:40:11 | Yes, and I like irony. Seriously, what part of this is giving you trouble? Alright, I've just never been a fan of religious tattoos, even if its a oxymoron tattoo. Its not my reasoning, I just think its silly getting religious tattoos when your not religious. Do you have any other ideas for a tattoo? Or do you mind sharing the ones that you have ? I've always been a tattoo fan. |
| #30baneofelvesOct 01, 2008 12:52:09 | A tattoo that says bite me? |
| #31_jayne_cobb_Oct 01, 2008 14:15:00 | I got this one on my right forearm: http://www.jeffbartels.com/images/singles/dragons/dragon79preview.html Have one similar to this on my left upper-arm: http://www.jeffbartels.com/images/singles/celticdesigns/celtic82preview.html Which is being worked in stages into the centrepiece of a band like this: http://www.jeffbartels.com/images/singles/armbands/armband1preview.html My wife and I have matching tattoos of this: http://dis.cs.umass.edu/~raphen/Personal/wedding/images/double_happy_bw.gif I'm mulling over a few others ATM, including the one I mentioned above, but this is not something I rush into. One is something like THIS but developed more into a full-on USCM Marine, another is THIS done in a slightly more ink-sketch style (as might appear in a medieval notebook), another is THIS as a tribute to the memory of a dear friend who died a couple years ago, and still another is THIS, not just for its TV and film association but also for what it represents therein (drawing strength and purpose from tragedy and loss). |
| #32_jayne_cobb_Oct 01, 2008 14:16:58 | A tattoo that says bite me? Depends entirely on where one locates it. |
| #33rizen_isstaria_dupOct 01, 2008 18:12:21 | I got this one on my right forearm: Ah a fellow Serenity fan .My husband and I have matching tattoos from the anime Berserk, the main character Guts has the symbol on his neck and the girl on her chest, this is the symbol http://gothic-moonlight.deviantart.com/art/Berserk-29261977 (without the flames). I got this tattoo a couple years ago, http://risenisstaria.deviantart.com/art/Skeleton-Pinup-Tattoo-98914710. Yeah yeah skeletons shouldn't have breasts, *shrugs*. I also have a gray work tattoo from an old fashion Japanese silk scroll and I'd like to get a cherry blossom tree tattoo. |
| #34whiteponyOct 11, 2008 0:03:28 | I have one tat on my back in between my shoulder blades. This is the closest thing i can find to it. http://beautyfeast.com/tattoo/?level=picture&id=132 Mine is different the rays coming off of the outside is the same but mine has a center and is not solid it has been tip shaded through the whole thing. |
| #35Mad_JackOct 11, 2008 16:40:26 | I have a scorpion on my upper arm, does that count? (Hey, there's stats for it in the MM, lol) I thought a few times about getting a really small d20 somewhere, since all my tats have (or will have) either a philosophical lesson behind them or represent something important to me (I have the Rocky Horror lips on my right shoulderblade...), and I've been playing D&D for more than 3/4 of my life. One of the high priority tats on my "to-do list" is an image of a black dragon and a white unicorn wrapped around each other in a yin-yang shape, representing several important life lessons and as a reminder of the importance of balance in all things. I just need to find somebody who can adequately illustrate the idea... |
| #36midnitepoisonDec 20, 2008 23:02:27 | well... i dont know if this counts...but i have a pair of wings on my back... they go from the middle of the back and the wingtips are just above the shoulder blades. theyre bat wings, not feathers |
| #37susannymnDec 21, 2008 2:51:53 | Not explicitly a DnD tattoo, but one that enough Gamers would give props for: On my left shoulder, I have the words 'Morituri Nomulus Mori' written out in Gaelic script. I also, completely out there, have the United States Bill of Rights written in full across my back, but then again I'm kinda a Poli-Sci nerd. |
| #38metal134Dec 21, 2008 21:55:38 | My tattoo is not D&D related, but it is in a similar vein. It is on my right upper arm. It is a tombstone with a bloody skeleton arm coming out of it making the sign of the devil horns with the moon, black clouds and bats in the background. I would like to add on it, probably with some midnight sky and a banner with script that says heavy metal. I would like to get a quarter sleeve on my left arm, probable with a dragon motif or something in that vein; I'm not sure yet. |
