| #1ivelliosnailo91Jul 18, 2010 3:35:59 | Where can I post on this site to find dungeons and dragons players in the houston texas area? |
| #2Robin_HoodlumJul 18, 2010 9:19:35 | Not here. |
| #3TemmybearJul 18, 2010 10:32:13 | On this site, look around and you might find relevant forum. It exists, I just don't remember where. In general, try looking at Meetup.com for role playing groups, any local game stores (most have at least a bulletin board with notices) near you or a number of RPG finding websites. Or you could put a group together out of your friends and elect someone DM. Happy Gaming! |
| #4Ragnar_LodbrokJul 18, 2010 11:32:10 | We need to get that thread stickied ... |
| #5death_isthe_beginingJul 18, 2010 19:33:50 | Try here |
| #6zombie_babiesJul 19, 2010 9:01:56 | We need to get that thread stickied No can do. The mods like to keep the amount of stickied threads limited to 3 in order to show more active posts on the first page. We done reached the limit with the Introduce Yourself thread. I suppose we could ask, but we'd likely need to drop either the Welcome or the Introduce Yourself thread to make room. |
| #7scypioJul 19, 2010 10:16:56 | I'd vote to get rid of the Welcome to the Tavern as a sticky. It seems redundant to the Introducation Thread. But The Introduction Thread seems to at least be used regularly by people trying to introduce themselves or some jazz. |
| #8zombie_babiesJul 19, 2010 11:40:16 | Hey man, my thread came first! Plus it's more than a 'hi, I'm ___' thing. I tried to capture the Tavern - since its pretty different from the rest o' the forums - in order to explain some of our oddbal quirks to newbies. So ... umm yeah or something. I'll do whatever ya'all ask me to. |
| #9scypioJul 19, 2010 11:48:14 | Well, I think your initial post is useful, but then it kind of degenerated. Maybe we can get rid of the Intro Thread since it tends to be used and doesn't require a sticky? But in the grand scheme of things, none of them are all that important. And sometimes when people post about finding games, we get threads that talk about hot, albino waffles eaten by chicks or something. |
| #10zombie_babiesJul 19, 2010 11:57:12 | Yep. In reality, we could lose the threads not created by Webby and be ok. It's doubtful people really read 'em anyway. The thing with the THIS IS NOT THE PLACE thread being stickied, though, is that we wouldn't be able to hunt it down and pop it up in its updated, pinky glory when people post 'looking for' threads here. Cuz it'd be at the top. We could certainly try it, though. And we could ask that it be made a 4th sticky, too. Whatever, ya know? I just don't know how useful stickied threads actually are. 'Specially concerning the 'looking for' crap cuz people obviously don't do any lookin' or searchin' on their own - they just assume and dump here. So why would they read the stickies? Meh. |
| #11KlirshonJul 19, 2010 20:18:28 | I thought the true purpose of that thread was to have fun bumping it since the intended purpose gets ignored anyways. |
| #12zombie_babiesJul 20, 2010 8:24:41 | Yeah, it certainly seemed to turn into something like that. And I can't type today. |
