Anyone played it? I cannot believe I have missed this for so many years - always been dimly aware of the sequel, but the original? I always liked old games, but this one... got my hands on it three days ago, and I think I need to re-arrange my favourite games list...

For those who haven't played it, just... do it. Trust me. Awesome gameplay, sweet plot, and enough self-irony to actually make its complete overload on conspiracy theories cool. Illuminati for the win!

In my opinion; if you haven't played the original Deus Ex, then you've never played a real RPG ever. Well, perhaps not so harshly, but you get the general idea. Excellent game when it came out years ago, and I still dust off the old PS2 to play when I'm in the mood for some serious Roleplaying.

... and then they made Invisible War, and the stun prod used the same ammo as the rocket launcher.

Ah, yes, Invisible War. I am, proud to say, in that small minority of gamer that not only appreciated the attempt of DE:IN, but thoroughly enjoyed the game at the same time. I can say little ill about the sequel; it was not the original of course, but a fitting (IMO) addition to the Deus Ex gameverse.

I even have that one, but it won't run on my computer... stupid on-board graphic cards. Though I did hear it was a good game - not divine like the first one, but solidly good (though the what I heard about ammo annoyed me indeed).

Deus Ex is definitely high on my "Favourite PC Games list."

BTW, what was your choice in the end?

Illuminati.

I know it sounds like the cynical, elitist status-quo choice - probably because it is - but it's still a lot better than the other two: this whole idealistic atavism thing is ridiculous, and merging with Helios... well, let's just say that I've read enough Ovid to beware of such Hybris ;) .

I chose to merge with Helios myself, the first time I played. A most satisfying ending.

Well, you got the reasons I didn't pick Ithe lluminati or the collapse of everything. I merged. Sooner or later all options led to tragedy.

Looking forward to whenever they decide to release Deus Ex 3, hoping it'll be a better addition than the sequel.

Deus Ex II: Invisible War, What a shame.

Heeeeey, more bro's and bra's into the conspiracy that is the big D and big E! I remember playin' that game when it first came out, I was blown away by it. The characters, the story, the interaction, the level of details, the bleedin' levels themselves! Stealth, Commando, Charismatic? All three? That game kicked, and still kicks, so much ass. I can't wait for the third game in the series, I'm psyched.
