| #2That_Blasted_SomoflangeJul 10, 2008 22:22:55 | If you believe that date, I have a bridge and/or some swamp land to sell you. Blizzard doesn't have release dates. The game is done when it's done. Any release date will be promptly snowed in by Blizzard. |
| #3b4_lifeJul 10, 2008 22:28:57 | Optimistic prediction for D3: Q4 2011. They still have that WoW expansion and SCII that comes before D3, and THEY don't have release dates, either. The videos look very polished, but knowing blizzard, they will keep scrubbing until you can see the gameplay from the moon. |
| #4pigknightJul 10, 2008 23:50:56 | Blizzard still has to patch WoW, finish Starcraft, and get out Wrath o' the Lich King. I expect Diablo III to be out mid late '09 ~ early '10. |

| #6That_Blasted_SomoflangeJul 11, 2008 11:56:12 | File Diablo 3 under DNF.... Oh I don't know about that. I fully expect Diablo 3 to come out, and people to like it. Whereas Duke Nukem, IF it ever comes out no one will give a rats arse. |
| #7kyros_tachyusJul 11, 2008 12:14:32 | Diablo 3 will make it out. Blizzard has only had ONE failure to produce a game and that was SC: Ghost. However, when you consider what other games Blizzard has put out and that SC is still THE most popular computer game worldwide (it might just be RTS game but I think it is THE most popular hands down iirc) after 10 years there is a reason they wait to release them as long as they do. However, Blizzard has an incredible way of showing you what they have solidified so far with their games. You can go onto the sites and see exactly what they have down for SC3 thus far, same with the still fledgling D3, and WotLK for WoW. Blizzard hasn't given a date for any of the games as far as I know, and nor will they until they can say with full confidence they won't have to force any major delays. Blizzard has pushed dates back but it has done so 6-8 months in advance... unlike some of our friends here at wizards who feel it is acceptable to push it back with 1 months notice and without telling many of the FLGS' out there. |
| #8That_Blasted_SomoflangeJul 13, 2008 20:43:06 | Diablo 3 will make it out. Um.. Not to nitpick, but you should get your info right. Starcraft Ghost isn't their only game that never came out. There was going to be an adventure game (think Sam & Max) starring Thrall called Lord of the Clans. It never came out. Also, with this game it isn't so much a failure, as the lore they put into this game is still around in the world. I would expect the same of starcraft ghost. |

Sadly, yes. Duke Nukem was fun as hell back in the day, but the window of relevance has closed on it in a big way. They would have to come out of the gate with something along the lines of a Halo-scale success to make anyone give a damn. Blizz claims D3is much closer to release than people imagine, so September may be a reality after all. It would but smart, too, as a Xmas '08 release for WotLK is likely which would give D3 a solid 3-4 months at the top of the heap before WotLK steal its thunder. |

Really, the game looks pretty polished as of right now, and I can see that it would be more about adding the story/cutscenes to the game than building the engine. That and last minute class balance/changes. I'm sure the other 3 classes are done, they're just putting out sporadic info. |
