I'm sure there are some 3.x builds that roll way more than that at level 5.

Well, beyond arbitrary and basically arbitrary damage tricks, mostly stemming from 9s, not really. In fact, I'm having trouble seeing someone doing this kind of damage before level 15 or so, and even they they have to jump off a horse.

Its something we do whenever someone tries something that isnt really covered by the rules, or something where skills not really a factor, like games of chance or whatever. What we do is roll 3d6 then you got to get under that number with a 20 sider.

Still no dice, this sucks, I had some good statistics up there, now theyre all gone! My favorite one was Number of people killed annualy by Sharknadoes: 1. I was hoping for a larger number, but you know, as long as at least one person is killed by a Sharknado that means that sharknadoes are real!!

One campaign I played in which was 2e, the DM said anytime you roll percentile dice and roll a 69, you automatically succeed.  Childish?  Perhaps, but it gave you a 1% better chance.
