OK...lets look at fifth Edition Dungeon Master's Guide. What are the one thousand Best Ideas that would need to be in the Next DM Manual?

1. DUNGEON DESIGN: Cave-In rules, and why you dont want to use disintergrate to cut a tunnel.

5th edition?

If there is a fifth edition, the only thing I'll wanna know from the books is how long until the 6th edition comes out. That way I can decide if it's worth putting out the money for books with a limited content-supported life.

it'll come out when it does.

after 3rd ed came out (i started with 2nd ed), i knew there was going to be a 4th ed, just not when. i fully expect a 5th and 6th ed also.

to expect a company to back and old product with new, interesting material for 10+ years is asking a lot, especially since D&D is supposed to be sortof generic.

while direct conversion isn't possible, i can easily convert the thematic aspects of most my 2nd and 3rd ed stuff i'd like to import over to 4th ed and vice versa, it just requires a little bit of retooling.
