Well a while back i was playing around with Visual basic and i realized it wouldn't be to hard to create a tool to hold character sheet's for awhile, or help people create characters.

Then it'd be easy to have it roll initiative for multiple enemies, and hold base stats and so on and so forth.

Anyway i was wondering whether anyone would actually find something like this useful? A friend mentioned that something like it already existed and i kind of gave up, but i could see a program that held old characters from old campaignes being pretty useful for a dm. And i don't recall seeing anything like it before.

So has it already been done? i wouldn't be in any hurry on it anyway but it seemed like a fun side project. Be a waste of time if there already is one though.

There's a few of these around, stuff like Maptools.

Some of the others probably know about them; you could also ask in D&D General.

I don't use them, but I've heard plenty of stories and I think they can do everything you've described.

Go to D&D Insider forum, Digital D&D sub-forum.  Take your pick of what's there.
