The person with the map and minis ends up doing all the work and you get into issues like "move me over next to that orc", "here?", "no the other orc", "oh, here", "no not there, the other side so I can flank him", "ok here", "but not that path, I don't want to trigger an opportunity attack", "move it your own damn self". A better solution is to use a VTT like Maptool or Fantasy Grounds. The only thing I could see using the webcam for is dice rolling (even though most VTTs have digital dice rollers, I prefer to roll my own, although I also trust my players to give me honest numbers without having to see them so we don't even use a cam for that).
