In other words, what DnD book has the best general look and the worst general look (cover, pictures, general presentation but excluding his content). In my opinion, 4e edition Monstrous Manual is one of the more beautiful book (if not the more beautiful book) but I must admit that I didn't buy many 3rd edition books and I don't remember 2nd edition very well (with the exception of one book, see below) and I had never saw a 1rst edition book. The worst is definitively the 2nd edition Complete book of the psyonics. Not only did this book presented the most unbalanced class of all time (all editions included), but this book was just a complete nightmare to see. The book was full of horrible New Age pictures. The book just look like a weird esoteric book and doesn't feel like a DnD book at all (at least by his look). |

Worst: AD&D Forgotten Realms campaign setting (1993). Its black and white, bland artwork failed to bring the setting to life. Opinion on 4E art: Good, after years of the 3E books its nice to go back to a clean feel similar to AD&D 2E. I also like the chapter starts with the two page pieces of artwork. I also like the boldness of the dead Regdar art. The books are similar to the ECS book, and so I am a fan. |
