I was thinking about this just now

Clive Barker (of Hellraiser fame) has a new book out

According to his website, it's a "work in progress". However, his website also talks about wanted to get the next draft of "Mister B.Gone" finished, with Mr BG having been out for a year now

According to Amazon, though, it's out on monday

now, 2 months ago I would have assumed that Clive's website had just not been updated for a while

however, after the debarcle with pre-orders, who knows!

i suppose we find out monday

they have stopped taking "pre" orders for the book, it'#s publish date is still listed at 4th august, but there is a simple 2please click for a notification when this book becomes available"

Well, as predited, Amazon was wrong!

Based on the information they were given by the publisher. If Barker can't meet his deadlines it is hardly Amazon's fault.

IIRC, the pre-order issues were due mostly to not having enough slip-cases for the gift set. People could - and did - request the three books without the case for the same discounted price. So, it was a little sticky to be sure, but not quite as bad as some make it sound.

Amazon's been nothing but good to me. I even got my pre-orders a little faster than expected. Good prices and good service. Yeah, I never had any problems with Amazon. It's more reliable than my local game store, and much less annoying.

Amazon did fine by me, I placed my order for the D&D set on May 31, promptly recieved them on June 6.

Same here. Dunno about folks dealing with the .com site south of the border, but Amazon.ca had my books in my hands shortly after breakfast on June 6th.
