| #1Cpt_MichaOct 05, 2009 9:22:23 | It's a boxed set for $29.99, and is supposed to be an introductory tool to bring new blood into this hobby.
The system is supposed to be simple and intuitive, using 3d6 + a stat modifier.
Yes there are classes, yes there are levels.
From what I gather it's going to follow a format similar to it's electronic counterpart in that, each of the classes will have a very wide range of abilities that they can pick up. Just three classes so far from what I've gathered but given how they appear to be handling them this won't be a problem. (For example the Warrior archetype can even Gish if you build him right, or you could make a beserker etc). There's alot of familiar here, with some slight twists on the old concepts.
Magic is supposed to work on spellpoints mechanic as well.
The only downside? It's only levels 1-5. 6-10 and so forth will come out in later sets. That's the big one I'm concerned about. But if they handle it well, it might actually become a good thing as the level of thought in each five level set remains consistent. That being said, it could end up being what damns the game if it's not handled well.
Overall I'm pretty stoked and have my 30 dollars set aside for this game specifically. |
