I've never really took the dive into the many books written about the series, and I've certainly not had the chance to read any DnD magazines. My question; which magazine is better suited for a DM and player alike looking for good ideas and a solid read, Dragon or Dungeon? |

It is good if you don't have too much time to do a lot of planning on your D&D campaign. Dragon Magazine is more for players and DMs alike. They will have things put in that can be used for both fluff and mechanics. It introduces stuff like info on powerful beings such as gods, primordials, devils, and demons, and it even stats them out for use. It will introduce new items and feats. It will have info on different races. Some of these will be stuff about monsters. These will often give many more monster stats than what is just in the MM, and sometimes have an in depth layout of how you can play the race and fit it into a campaign. This is good if you are a DM that has a lot of time to make an in depth homebrew campaign. |
