If you ever want to discuss your dreams - whether they be creepy, strange, or funny - feel free to post them here. I know I have my share of really creepy, scary dreams, so don't be afraid to share. ;)

Note: If the dream is a bit long, feel free to /sblock it.

Hrm... can't remember much, but when I woke up this last saturday I remember this bit of dialogue...

"Oh god, those are tentacles from the sky!"
"Now now, don't worry, those are deific tentacles from the sky."

And thats when I woke up becasue the phone was going off way too early in the morning.

Nothing noteworthy lately. For some reason I dream of having a date that fails. And when i wake up I never remember who the person I was dating actually was. Also some flying, but that's not that unusual.

My Murder

Shortly after Christmas of '07, I had a dream about my murder. I was watching myself play EverQuest II on my dad's computer, as I usually do at 4 in the morning. I looked over at the den area (we had converted our garage into a den for the computers, with a couch and recliner) and thought I saw a shadow. I ignored it and went back to playing the game, and heard something fall on the floor. Thinking it was a mousetrap, I spun around. That's when I saw a man standing at the door to our garage. He had a pistol with an etched barrel held in his left hand (it may not seem significant, but as I describe other dreams, you'll get it) and a silver knife with a mahogany handle in his right. That's when I went from playing the game to seeing myself and the other person. Y'know, out of body experiences and such. But anyways, he said six words before pulling the trigger of the gun aimed at my head: "You know too much. I'm sorry." I woke up right before the silver bullet made contact with my forehead, right between my eyebrows.

Although I have had some very nasty nightmares, that would have been too much even for my subconcious. I hope. Then again, my subconcious once put me in a situation where my father gave me a Mission of Vital Importance, which was kill the snakes outside my home, and presented me my weapon: a broom.

Oh, and actually the opposite drams are much worse. I've just had a wonderful time with a literal dreamgirl and then a) I wake up b)I do not even remember her face. It has been quite some time since I dreamt anything like that though (my ex probably scared them.

I had a dream that, at the time, really freaked me out - but learned that it had benefits...

It started with me waking in my bed in the middle of the night. I'd get up and go to leave my room for some unknown reason, when I opened the door - I discovered another dimension, It was as if my door was a portal,  but wasn't leading anywhere, just blck emptiness, so I'd go back to bed all tripped out. Soon after, I would wake up again, get up and open my door - same thing would occur, but this time it was another dimension, hell. This went on & on & on, over & over & over, After a while it was becoming hard to determine whether I was naturally awake or if I was still dreaming, which made it, eventually, difficult to actually awaken. Once I finally woke up, I laid there for a moment wondering - so, I went to  door once again and it was then that I made the connection. For quite a while afterwards, it was frightening - but after giving it some thought, it was from those times that I learned that with some practice, I could actuall control my dreams. It's amazing what you could accomplish within dreams - it's like a whole other world when you have control over it.

Good times.

What divine serendipity! Why, just this morning, I was wracked with sleepless, wake-less, fever dreams! It was like being trapped in a physical prison made of nightmares while your body motions comprise soley of jerky, aimless spasms. The moral of this tale is that you always need to check the cooking instructions on Trader Joe tacos veeery carefully, because Trader Joe will straight up poison a bitch.

The actual content of the fever dreams is nebulous and insubstantial, like an evanescent cloud of indeciferable motion and incomprehencible noises, but what I can recall can be summated in a short and simple sentance. "WOLVES ARE ****ING EVERYWHERE."

Were the Wolves hunting owls? I thought they went for meatier game...

As for my dreams, they are often too incoherent for me to understand what the hell I was dreaming about in the first place. Its like channel surfing and the only shows that are broadcasting are bat guano insane.

"Wow, I wish there wasn't wolves everywhere."

Do you live in a place where crows are common?  I ask because I find it more likely that you're just seeing crows around when you look, and not that any crows are following you.  Most people can't really tell the difference between two crows at any kind of distance.

On that note, weird dream thing from a previous night... not really sure which part was dream and which part was thinking after I woke up, but I heard a knock on the door and thought to myself "Who would knock at this time of night?"  After a pause another thought "Who would knock at this time of night, that wouldn't knock twice?"

Whereupon the dream either continued, or I went to sleep.  After tying a shirt about my nethers1 and walking around the house real quick and checking that the doors were locked.

-------
1I found a shirt before I found sleep pants, and at 4 am that's good enough for my modesty.

I sleep naked half the time.  So when I went to walk around the house, as some concession to modesty, I grabbed a long sleeved shirt and tied it around my waist so as to cover the manly bits.  Didn't cover my arse, but I'm not nearly as worried about that being seen.

And seeing as how I was half-asleep at 4 am, I think that's a pretty darn good concession to modesty.

When I was a little kid, I used to have reoccurring nightmares. In them, the planet was enslaved by aliens. My family and myself (along with vast others) were in some sort of large underground cavern where we were forced to push a giant contraption which was some sort of drill. I remember it was fairly well lit and there was the sense of stuff like whips but I can't remember what the aliens looked like. I also has the strong sense that we would continue to drill and drill until we reached the core and then the planet would explode.

I remember having these dreams several different nights and being freaked out by them.

In constrast, last night, I had a dream that I was downloading songs for Beatles: Rock Band. But the songs weren't Beatles songs and ones which I already had for normal Rock Band. I figured it'd be fun to have multiple singing parts =P

When I dream, I'm usually aware that I'm dreaming, so I tend to steer things. There are, however, dreams that I can't steer, and they only tend to happen during high-stress times in my life and they usually happen as a series of dreams. They also tend to use the same elements, like cemeteries, large cities with twisty, narrow streets, statues that come alive, gypsy and circus wagons, and a tidal wave of darkness that is going to engulf everything in oblivion.

In one such series, I was in a cemetery with several other people. We all wanted to get out, but if we moved, the statues would move to block us. Finally we felt something closing in quickly. Then the statues let us go and we instinctively ran for the far end of the cemetery where we had to hit a cyclone fence and get over it. Each night of the dream, one person didn't make it. They vanished into the wave of darkness. It was finally down to me and one guy, a heavy, curly-headed guy whom I called "Cubby" because of his Chicago Cubs jacket. When the dream started, we looked at each other like "Oh no. One of us is not going to make it." So we hatched a plan. Either we would both make it or neither would make it. When the statues let us go, we took each other's hand and ran like hell for the fence. We got there at the same time and he boosted me up to the top of the fence. I reached down and pulled him up and we both cleared the fence. There was an explosion and I woke up with a start.

There was one more dream after that. Cubby and I met each other in the city I described earlier. Rather than the dead of night, it was a bright, sunny day. We were relieved to see each other, but we also knew that the darkness was a little upset at us. We felt the familiar sensation and knew it was coming after us. Cubby took to the rooftops and I took to the alleys. We were going to make that thing find us. Before I disappeared into the alley, I saw the statues. They were on a vacant lot and glaring at me, very angry, but they couldn't move because Cubby and I had upset the rules of whatever they and the darkness were doing. I then made my run for the alleys and twisty, narrow streets, stopping only when I encountered a circle of colorful wagons (the gypsy and circus wagons). An old gypsy woman invited me in and the interior was much larger than the exterior. She pressed something into my chest and told me it would make the darkness powerless against me. I mentioned having to get Cubby to bring him there but she stopped me and said that he would find his own savior.

I only dreamed the cemetery and statues one more time, but this time I wasn't running through it. I was walking through it like I owned it. I triumphed over something, but I'm not sure what.

I've had other dreams, one-offs, that I thought were pretty cool. In one I was a spirit that guided the dead into the afterlife and was violating the rules of that game by appearaing to the bereaved and showing them the place where their loved ones would be waiting for them. In another, I was a primal spirit manipulating natural forces to balance the progress of civilization against the preservation of the wilds, and in another I was the wind, sailing my way all around the world.

I love those dreams!

Nope, but it does seem that when ever a friend of mine has a zombie dream, someone close to her dies within a few days.

So as a result she's deftly afraid of zombies. They creep her out like hell.

All of you guys dreams seem to make sense, I am somewhat envious. My dreams are either missing any semblence to reality or partly prophetic(always something insignificant like taking at test for a class that is in another town) sometimes both.

I once had a dream where I was 2D but after I died(in classic Mario fashion) the world around me was 3D. I fought a creature composed entirely of eyes(no eyelids), by winning a staring contest. Which caused it to explode. Around one week later I was flipping through the channels and I saw  the eye-creature(it was from the first series of Power Rangers) for the first time, and then I played Super Mario Bros 2 which happened to be the 2D world in which I died(I had played the game before then but this time in the game I died in the exact same way I died in my dream).

That was one of the few dreams I've had(I've only had something around 20 dreams total).

Concession to "modesty" is why I keep my jeans from the day before beside my bed. I get up, slip into my jeans and then whatever. (be it being awake in the middle of the night or getting up to get ready etc)

I had a semi wierd dream I guess it was wierd. Hard to say by my standards. I was standing, on nothing watching something which looked like a cross between It, and a Dragon eat tacos.

On the other hand, when we woke in the middle of the night to some dill-weed breaking into our car, the look on his face when a big, naked guy came bursting out of the front door was priceless. It was like, as soon as he realized that yes, the big naked guy was running towards him, he couldn't get away fast enough! (Okay, admittedly it wasn't the brightest thing to do, but my husband and I got a big laugh out of the jaw-dropped expression on the punk's face!)

My dreams are generally very normal, everyday type things. Example: my wife was talking to one of our friends back in Canada (for those keeping track, the ex-girlfriend who now lives with my best friend, the guy who walked in on me and that ex-girlfriend once) at the request of our daughter. I was drifting in and out of sleep, and dreamed that I was trying to get my wife to ask the friend to get an ID on Skype so we could do some long-distance board gaming, but my wife kept interrupting me so I never was able to ask the question before they hung up.

I had my first truly bizarre dream quite recently. I was again drifting in and out of sleep. Each time I fell back asleep, I dreamed I was a geometric shape that was expanding. Then I'd wake up, go back to sleep and be a different shape that was expanding. Truly odd.

My wife has the best dreams; very violent. Her most entertaining was when a frozen turkey in the freezer got possessed by a demon and she killed it by mashing it to a paste with a cellphone.

Although it is kinda cool when your dreams nail pretty much every detail on the head. The only thing my "prophetic" dream missed were the rims on the car. (My dream had custom rims, the real one had stock rims.) Everything else was spot on right down to the dog at the side of the road.

Mostly, though, I don't get prophecies. I might get dreams of situations that are similar to something that happens later in the RW, and it does trigger a bit of deja vu, and yes, I do perk up and pay more attention and sometimes alter my actions (like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, taking a different route to work and so forth), but rarely do I see any evidence that something bad was definitely going to happen. Meh, maybe changing my actions altered the pattern or something.

I rarely dream, and when I do, I generally only remember a snippet when I wake up. The last one I remember was a few weeks ago, when I dreamed about a giraffe falling from a hot air balloon. Yeah. I don't know how I fit in there - was I the pilot, the giraffe, an observer, no idea - or how you fit a giraffe into a hot air ballon or why you would want to in the first place or why it fell off (the balloon was unharmed, the giraffe simply fell out of the basket), but there you go.

I just hope that one wasn't prophetic.

The human brain is mostly unused, we do not know the full extent of our own capabilities. Who is to say that it's not something that was predicted by my subconscious. As has been said before "Magic is simply science we don't understand yet". The likelihood that I predicted twenty questions and all four answers for each question to a class(and being interrupted by the teacher) I didn't even know existed is nigh-impossible, but so is the likelihood of it being a coincidence is also close to non-existent. I don't pretend to know the truth of it, I just don't rule it out completely(instead I relegate it to insignificance).

I've had prophetic dreams type things before. But they weren't dream dreams but instead just day dreams. Such as I'll be awake and deep in thought, or just spaced out, and I'll see something in my mind. Always something that just seems unimportant. Something like object A being bumped and then an item or a few of them falling. In like a minute or less what I saw in my little day dream will happen right in front of me exactly as I saw it. Well as far as I can tell at least.

Eh, as an extraordinary claim, it requires extraordinary evidence.  Just noting that you were right after the fact, quite simply, isn't enough, especially with humanity's predilection to ret-con our own memories, to find patterns from chaos, our own perception bias, and so-on.

I had a strange dream last night. I had to destroy a medical-looking machine that used a large form of those plastic bibs dentists have their patients wear to trap people by stitching it up around them (during the dream, I had the feeling that this was done to restrain the victim so the machine could somehow consume the victim for energy). I destroyed it with what seemed to be C4.
