| #2fauriethApr 01, 2009 12:03:06 | Reads more like a lame April Fool's joke. Messing with the forum colours is one thing. Messing with M:tG and Drizz't (who's not even that cool to begin with), is just a +7 Cup of Epic Fail. |
| #3SongSooGumbupApr 01, 2009 12:26:11 | . . . and Drizz't (who's not even that cool to begin with) . . . That's why it's funny. I've only read The Dark Elf Trilogy and I liked Drizzt's character, but he seems like he's able to do a little too much than possible (even for a D&D game). He also has a strong die-hard fanbase. This is why I felt it appropriate to compare the card to some of the Chuck Norris stuff you see. In fact you could Google "Chuck Norris Magic The Gathering card" and see several similar jokes. I suppose this leads to the question: If Chuck and Drizzt got into a fight, who would win? |
| #4fauriethApr 01, 2009 12:29:15 | You pose an interesting question. Drizz't with his oodles of superfantasy hijinks, and Chuck with himself. When you compare all those items, weapons, magic and that panther Drizz't has compared to Chuck and himself, you see a huge difference of power level. It's an easy call on this one, given just how much power one has over the other. Winner: Chuck Norris. Dark Elves are for Sissies. |
| #5drnickApr 01, 2009 12:34:21 | You guys realize the card is making fun of drizzt right? What's with the over the top hatred of april fool's day? It's a little odd... |
| #6fauriethApr 01, 2009 12:35:20 | I was just playing. What's with the over-the-top-complete-oblivious on April Fool's Day? :P |
| #7daidojitaidoruApr 01, 2009 12:37:08 | That's why it's funny. Chuck Norris. You see Drizzt's power source is fanboyism and angst, while Chuck Norris draws his power from memetic mutation, parody and awesome. That's three power sources to two, and faster draw rates at that. Also his card is better. Costs less mana, no multi color BS, and drops your opponent like a sack of bricks. |
| #8krownhunter07Apr 01, 2009 12:37:38 | ThEY BOTh WILL BE AsSImILATED, THeN ReSIStANCE wILL BE FuTIlE11!1!! UnITS ChUCK + DrIZZT = EpIC WiN FOr ASSIMiLATIoN. |
| #9dewmanApr 01, 2009 13:03:55 | It's been a very long time since I've played Magic the Gathering but both of these cards are misleading I think which makes them nice April Fool's jokes. The Drowboy: If you tap him he beats *you* up not an opponent since "opponent" is not specified; only "your". Only when the kitty is around will he dual-strike opponents (one now and one in the near future) which are then eliminated. The Cowboy: Playable when there is only one other player since the verbiage is "the other player", not "another player". Now I remember why I stopped playing. |
| #10quest-masterApr 01, 2009 13:11:38 | I'd rather see Drizzt the Drow Ranger VS. Chucky the serial killer puppet. :D |
| #11Seeker95Apr 01, 2009 13:33:12 | If Chuck and Drizzt got into a fight, who would win? Chuck. Drizzt is still bound by some semblance of the rules in the game, whereas Chuck defies the laws of physics even in real life. |
| #12SongSooGumbupApr 01, 2009 14:08:19 | So, memetastic Chuck beats fanboyzic Drizzt hands down? Well, it's good to know that culture > angst |
| #13akodokojiApr 01, 2009 14:53:24 | http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheAce This card is the Chuck Norris of Magic. |
| #14darkless_oneApr 01, 2009 15:37:15 | Not that Chuck Norris is an ignorant fanatical racist who shouldn't be glorified or anything. |
| #15ssvegeta555Apr 01, 2009 18:39:03 | Can Drizzt kill two stones with one bird? I don't think so. And don't get me started about how Chuck can divide by zero. :D |
| #16Steely_DanApr 02, 2009 4:14:08 | Last I heard Drizzt was working as rough trade on the streets of Calimport. Chuck has colonized Mars, by himself. |
| #17Seeker95Apr 02, 2009 8:28:21 | Chuck has colonized Mars, by himself. But for all the world's children. He's that magnanimous! |
| #18DukeLukeofSevApr 02, 2009 9:06:46 | I hate the idolic worship of an actor. It's not even that funny at all.... |
| #19doneisiApr 02, 2009 10:57:06 | I hate the idolic worship of an actor. It's not even that funny at all.... He is also an accomplished martial artist with a great tournament record. |
| #20TouchfuzzyApr 02, 2009 12:51:28 | I hate the idolic worship of an actor. It's not even that funny at all.... Its called PARODY. Man... why does no one have a sense of humor anymore? |
| #21darksideavatarApr 02, 2009 12:59:24 | Important note: Chuck got beat up by Bruce. |
| #22mock26Apr 02, 2009 13:16:02 | I hate the idolic worship of an actor. It's not even that funny at all.... "Chuck Norris facts" are not about idolic worship. It is about making silly jokes that just happen to be about this one particular actor. I personally think that Chuck Norris is a hack-job of an actor, that his movies suck, that he is a bit of a nut-job, but I love Chuck Norris facts because they make fun of his cheesey movies and TV shows in a fun and playful manner. And, I do respect Chuck for playing along with the Chuck Norris facts with a bit of grace and a sense of good humor. |
| #23zocchihedron_dupApr 02, 2009 13:18:38 | You're all wrong: Bruce Campbell's Chin enters the battle, they both loose. The Chin is declared undisputed winner of the realm. |
| #24DukeLukeofSevApr 02, 2009 20:24:42 | I know, but the jokes do get annoying when you hear them everywhere! |
| #25Authw8Apr 04, 2009 13:30:50 | Oh my god, I just realized something... Only one person has the power necessary to make something as ubiquitous as Chuck Norris jokes are today. CHUCK NORRIS!!!!!!! |
