While better than I can draw, the right arm in the foreground seems to be longer than the left one. It could be a matter of perspective because of the pose, but it just seems off. The face as a whole is really good, but the body just doesn't look right to me. The knife itself, not to mention the had is really well done. All in all, the colours, especially the eyes, are all great it is just the pose that I don't care for. Keep up the good work. Also, as others have said, keep this away from Astrid's.. Putting that in there would be like crossing the streams, and I'm kinda fuzzy on all good bad things, so it's safer to keep it away. *Really? Sclera is a spelling mistake? Stupid forum software, not only does it not recognize the proper kings English, but also certain parts of the body are 'spelling' mistakes. For those of you who don't know, the sclera is the 'white of they eye' on us humans, and the iris is the coloured part.

#7 ciaran Nov 25, 2008 22:52:47	Her face looks a little flattened (not as 3-D as the rest) and there's a few very subtle edged that need smoothed out but otherwise very well done. On a side note, coming from a drow society she might not appear so friendly. She can be beautiful, but a glint of murder or treachery in the eyes wouldn't hurt.

I don't think that you will have to worry about anybody ripping the picture apart. Also, KillerGM hates to see threads go off topic so if anybody does dis upon your picture she will hound them about it. Your picture will be safe on that thread. KGM does not agree with some of the art work that is on the thread, but she does not allow for discussion of how bad artwork is on the thread. It is a thread of good art that depicts women right so it is about posting art that the poster believes gets it right. The things that are welcome there are complements, so don't worry about having to receive flack.

Personally I would have drawn her naked and dripping with blood like the actual women (I'm reading Robert Graves's "The Greek Myths" which is why I think this). As to the drawing itself, I think the proportions are a little off (compare the thighs to the arms). Also the breasts seem wrongly placed. The style makes me think of something they might spray on someones car on an episode of "Pimp My Ride". As a manga-CG piece it works though. Post more of your work as it'd be good to see how you develop your style and what you do with other mediums.

You'd be surprised what people like when you put aside your assumptions, which is kind of an overall goal for Astrid's in general! (Note: I'll admit that I think it's rather pedestrian in general, but the shading is very nicely done. I do like the eyes as well.)

But I can't help thinking about a time when the (female) posters of Astrid's were accused of isolating themselves, instead of practising what they preached and be a part of the other boards here. You've just showed why sticking to Astrid's is the best idea.
