Hope this is in the right place!

I'm thinking about starting a Dungeons and Dragons club at my school. Everyone would be welcome; we would meet once a week or once every two weeks. I or another member who is more experienced would be the DM to begin with then perhaps more people would be willing to do so and we could see where it went from there. Several people I know in school would love to learn and sense it's an art school I figure there are probably several more. For starters I figure start off with a prewritten campaign of some kind. Any thoughts or ideas on what I could do or how I should go about doing it?

Well if it's 3.5 maybe have some premade characters and ask if they want to make their characters themselves or if they would like use a premade character.

Make sure to let everyone know how long things will last(make sure to let them know it could last longer).

A prewritten campaign is fine as long it's at lower-to-middle levels of play, that way they get some idea about how it's supposed to go.

The rest depends on who and how you convince people to try the game.

If you ever get a campaign off the ground and really get people into the realm of D&D have them go to big gaming stores where many D&D groups are played and see if you can't get some character art commissions.  Someone will probably shell out for a cool picture of their character and then cha-ching, money.
