Hi all

Can anyone else get onto ENW at the moment? I had a few days of 'go slow' with about 2 to 5 minutes between page selection and getting there! SO I gave up for a while... now I just get a blank page. ENW has done this before but I thought they had new servers to sort that out?

Maybe it is just being on the other side of the world to almost every one?

Yup, it's down. And good riddance. ;) I'm sure it'll be fine in a few hours, maybe a day or so. Just keep checking in.

Has anyone gotten back on the site? It still seems down today. I wonder what's going on...

I hope the servers finally crashed... and good riddance.

It looks like the site is up with a message of: Closed briefly for maintenance. Back shortly!

Better then not having anything at all.

I managed to get there yesterday and make a post in META saying about my go slow and no show problems. Now I cannot get back again

And @Archyneir take your hate posting/trolling/thread crapping else where.

Back up. I know folks are working on it, and apparently the source of the problem was the mail server, and something about it finally catching up with a backlog and spitting out thousands of unsent messages all at once.

As for bashing of it...I encourage anyone who has had issues with EnWorld to check out CircvsMaximvs.com . I think you will find it a better atmosphere for your tastes.

It is back up
As my email inbox will attest, many of you have noticed that EN World has been inaccessible for the last couple of days. This is because the server was sending out a couple of months' worth of backlogged automated emails (thread subscriptions, private message notifications, and so on). Our best estimate is that it had over 16,000,000 emails to send to over 80,000 people (I know I received a few hundred myself)!

For now, we've turned off the email-based features of the site, so you won't be able to subscribe to threads and forums, etc. until we can figure out exactly why the mailserver got hung up and backlogged - we don't want another mail queue of that size building up agian!

We've just opened up the site again, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that it remains up and running. We'll be keeping an eye on it today to see what happens.

And @Archyneir take your hate posting/trolling/thread crapping else where.

Go get your Sarcasm-Meter checked, and take a few lessons on inter-communications etiquette. And think before you post something online too, it makes you look less like a fool when something you say comes back to bite ya on the rear. :D

Any further attempts from you too provoke unruly behavior on my part will have me being forced to report your unlawful actions. That is all.

Also, I frequent ENWorld quite often; you find lots of sources of information and good humour there. I encourage anyone interested in D&D to at least check the site out!

Exactly. Good to see that we're on the same page now.
