#1 Novacat Jan 18, 2009 16:16:00	I'll preface this by saying that I don't like Final Fantasy... at all. I've tried playing seven of them, but none have held my interest more than a couple hours, tops. I'm absolutely not what you would call a Final Fantasy fan. That said, this video has got to be one of the most awesomely epic fight scenes I've even seen, and now I want to figure out how to convert it into satisfactory D&D mechanics, for use in my campaign.

Instead of doing realistic things such as jumping a 5ft gap, the characters can now run up walls, jump 15ft gaps easily, and send opponents flying across the room with mere punches.

In fact clothes is actually one of my pet peeves when it comes to gender issues. I hate being told what to wear, and I hate people jumping to any conclusions about me based on the way I dress. @ Terronus.... I think those would chafe.

It's not actually possible to not have an idea based on how people look. Just as it is impossible to not have an idea about people somebody talk you about. And that's ok, really. Don't get me wrong, I'm all out for race/sex/gender/anything equality. And human rights and so on and so forth. But, and this is actually something I think many people just don't think about, this is not something that has to do with it. "Not having pre-judices means not being able to judge anything". The problem is that people are not able to change their opinions. If you see somebody who's dressed in a certain fashion, you'll link him/her to every other person you've seen that dressed like her, and to everything you read or listened regarding her clothes. And that is normal, and must be accepted. What must be changed isn't how human minds think, but what they think about things and how much flexible their minds are. If you have a pre-judice (not a prejudice, but a pre-judice. It may sound better in my language that it does in your) you must be able to know it, accept it, and rapidly change it as you come to know more of the person you meet. Same way for other people's opinions. If I hear somebody saying something about somebody else, I will be inclined to think in a certain way when meeting that person (like the person that told me about it if I trust him, opposite if I don't). And again, that's okay, but you must know it and be able to counter it by being open to changes. Just my two philosophical pieces. ;)
