#4 homicidal_squirrel Jan 04, 2011 8:00:22	Yeah, its kind of like traffic cameras that take your pictures and then you get a ticket in the mail. Except its your neighbor's or someone else's camera. It comes out cheaper for cities to do it this way.

#10 pluisjen Jan 04, 2011 9:02:30	If the number of people breaking those rules is less then the number of drivers that is now convinced that they shouldn't break the other rules of traffic, it's a net gain. If the number of drivers that are now convinced they shouldn't break the rules is large enough that the number of rules breaks is so low that there's really not much left to take pictures of, it's a double gain
#11 zombie_babies Jan 04, 2011 9:42:24	Remember: people suck.  This will be abused, this will cause accidents.  So ... uhh ... nothin' changes except the city gets some more cash, I guess.  All I know is that I'd get really, really familiar with Photoshop and have some real fun.
#12 pluisjen Jan 04, 2011 9:45:58	Yeah it'll probably be abused in the end, but if it helps prevent more accidents then it causes I'm all for it. I still don't see why they tell people where speeding cameras are for example.. those things work much better if they could be anywhere and you don't know when you'll be spotted for driving to fast. Ah well.
