#1 frozenferret Oct 07, 2009 3:37:48	Things are winding down in the year, and a lot of the typically outdoor activities have ran there course. I looked outside today at the gray sky, and the cold damp ground and I thought - wow this is a really great time of the year for D&D. Theres just something about this time of year that seems to awaken the creative side of me. What about you? Any particular thoughts on the subject?
#2 cherubaddon Oct 07, 2009 3:46:04	I agree. It's been raining cats and dogs in most of Germany for the past few days, and that's like, perfect weather for a good Vampire: The Masquerade game. Or two.
#3 zombie_babies Oct 07, 2009 9:11:32	Actually, fall is the start of most of my outdoor activities.  D&D tends to get pushed to the side until the fall and early winter is over.

Once it starts getting chilly outside I start feeling like a kid again for some reason, maybe because I get excited about the holidays. I love this time of year for D&D because it's so easy to feed the gaming group with a big pot of stew, which is totally food for cooler weather. And in a few months there'll be a beautiful Christmas tree there in the game room. I love that.

#6 eagor Oct 09, 2009 1:54:47	I love a lot of things about fall, but gaming is definitely one of them. I was finally able to find a group in my new town, which I'm really happy about. There's nothing quite like putting on some good background music and sitting down to game with your friends, the rain pitter-pattering against the windows while you have hot food (and maybe drink) in front of you. I think a cool drizzle is just great weather for a campaign.
#7 Fox_Reeveheart Oct 09, 2009 18:42:45	Hmmm never thought about that for D&D... but on a odd coincidence.. other day I was walking down the street to the liquor store (not for me :p ) and looking at all the different colors around me of foliage, and then another day after that of looking at the gray cloudy sky... reminded me of two things... the summoner for ps2 (my favorite ps2 game I think)... but more importantly.. MTG... i dunno... that dark dreary scenery reminds me of the cards in early magic in the less digital and more rustic painting style... reminding me of 2nd edition D&D fantasy art or something like that.  So I always call fall the premier MtG gaming season just because the scenery reminds me of it so much ^_^  But I can see why D&D with loved ones and friends sounds nice on a rainy autumn day :p
#8 lord_byron1 Oct 10, 2009 5:41:04	Yep - gotta agree with the original poster. There is something about Autumn that fits DnD.   I think its the feel of impending winter, cold and darkness just around the corner, just like the feel in the begining of a lot of my campaigns. I think Lord of the Rings starts in Autumn, if I remember correctly.
#9 EscherEnigma Oct 12, 2009 17:45:27	It was 91F and sunny today. And that is thoroughly unnatural.  Another mark against Florida, I like a place with real seasons.
