Here are a few I have found!
Plunkette and McLeane: Two highwaymen in 1740's England. Dirty. gritty, fun with some great actors.
The Midnight Chronicles: Fantasy Flight games attempt to break into the genre. The goal was to produce a pilot that would lead to a series on SciFi Network. Tied directly to the Midnight D&D setting for 3.0/ 3.5.
Fire and Ice: 1980's animated film. Simple plot set in a world that feels like something written by Robert E. Howard.
Centurion: Romans in Scotland attempting to stay alive.
Conan (2011): Conan updated returns to the screen.
Rob Roy: A 1700's Highlander attempts to maintain his honor and protect his people as the old ways are slowly replaced. Features some of the BEST stage combat ever!
Not claiming all of these are great but you might find them fun (and they stream so you aren't out anything if you get 10% into a movie and decided to stop!)
Also, Valhalla Rising, The Visitors and Highlander are on there.
Of those mentioned so far, I'd only suggest spending time with Rob Roy and Valhalla Rising. The rest just aren't worth it. Remember, kiddies: Just cuz you like a certain genre doesn't mean suffering through all of the crap put out in said genre is a worthy endeavor. And if you think it is, get help.
Oh I agree. Here's the tricky part. A few years back I posted a review on the 2 Dungeons and Dragons movies (which I found to be TERRIBLE). I was amazed at the heat I received! Many people really had a passion for those movies!!! The moderator finally shut down the thread. I even showcased the thread at my weekly D&D game (everyone had seen both films) and we laughed and laughed. Lessons learned: What one man finds foolish another sees beauty.

Thank you, I was going to suggest that one but I couldnt remember the name of it. It was pretty good, more of a historical (fiction) romance, but still pretty good, and had some kickass fighting scenes!
How 'bout The Black Hole by Disney? It is a rather old movie, early 80's I would guess.

Yeah I loved the Black Hole as a kid as well, I even got the action figures! I watched it not that long ago, it was on scyfy or something, it, uhm, wasnt as good as I remembered it. I hope Dragonslayer isnt that way too.
Eh, I thought Dragonslayer was crap back when I first saw it - it's fun crap, though... And still definitely one of the better movie dragons done to date. I recently found an old copy of the original novel, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet.
Not sure if it's on Netflix, but I've always been somewhat partial to Rutger Hauer's Flesh and Blood, although I'm not sure if others would consider it "good" or not. It's got plenty of fighting, the plague, and some great sex in it, though... Actually, I will say that it's definitely got some decent cinematography.
If you're thinking of the scene where they find her stowed away in the mercenary company's wagons and drag her out next to the fire, then yup, that's the one.

and yeah 13th Warrior is a good one, is that on netflix? That one really surprised me, I was forced into watching it, I was thinking it was going to be a typical Antonio Banderas movie, except this one didnt suck.

Exactly! Some friends were all watchin' it an' stuff an' I was all like 'why' and they was all like 'shut up' so I watched it and it was surprisingly ok.
No. Johnny Depp is awesome but he's not nearly awesome enough to make those film abortions watchable. You like Depp? Then watch Dead Man or Fear and Loathing or The Rum Diary. Sheesh.
No. I like Pirates of the Caribbean. I like only some of Depp's films such as Alice in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I don't much care for horror movies which seems to be the type of thing Depp does a lot of. I only know who Depp is because I was interested in POTC. People tend to assume I'm just a Depp fan, haha.

I don't much care for horror movies which seems to be the type of thing Depp does a lot of. I only know who Depp is because I was interested in POTC. People tend to assume I'm just a Depp fan, haha.
Wut? I didn't mention any sort of horror movie. Dead Man is a unique Western and the other two are screen adaptations of Hunter S Thompson novels - a man who Johnny considered a very good friend. So good, in fact, that he paid for his funeral. I wouldn't expect you to know who he was, though, as he created things that were actually, you know, good. He never wrote horror, though. I imagine that could be debated but it'd be a silly debate. Nixon certainly inspired feelings of horror in some, for example, but there's nothing really that slasher or supernatural about his campaigns.

The book is better - but they usually are. Still, the movie was pretty good. I'd lend it to you but I have a feeling you're nowhere near me.
Best fantasy on Netflix? Buffy.
I should watch that sometime. I really like supernatural shows like that. I've just never been into vampires... lol.

Ice Pirates is a true classic...
13th Warrior wasn't just a good movie - the original book (Eaters of the Dead) was written by Michael Crichton, as a sort of faux translation and scholarly commentary on the "real", "historical" notes left behind by Banderas' character. In a way, it's almost sort of a Blair Witch Project thing, lol. While the story is going on, there are notes inserted into the text about possible translation errors by people over the years copying it from the original historical document and inserts references to other fictional and real scholarly works to support the details of the story.
It actually makes a pretty good logical case for the theoretical continued existence of Neanderthals even up until the time of the story, lol.
It arose out of an argument Crichton had with a friend about whether or not the story of Beowulf was boring, and was Crichton's counterpoint to said friend's opinion. So he took the notes from a real-life Arab traveller's experiences with the Norse and interwove them with the Beowulf story to prove that it could be an interesting story if told correctly.
Their TV series selection is really great in streaming, but not so much in the way of Movies.

I saw The Last Airbender before the cartoon and I enjoyed it while in the theater. After watching the cartoon I quickly saw why it was so incredibly terrible, lol. The caroon is much better. I was wondering where I heard of Avalon High before and I looked it up. I think I saw that on Disney before. I enjoyed it a lot.
How is The Secret Circle? People on the Charmed website recommended that to be once but I never watched it. I have so much to keep up with that I just forget, lol.

It's kinda sad that Sphere was so crappy; it had such potential for awesomeness.
For TV series, I would recommend The Dresden Files, Firefly, Dollhouse, and Game of Thrones.
