#1 chaosboye Nov 20, 2009 19:41:45	I know that most of the time, NPCs are more fun than anything else. My personal favorite was a drunken elf in a tavern playing cards at a table. My party asked him if he knew about the zombie attack that happened in the nearby village. He just laughed and started throwing knives at random people. FUN bar fight. What're yours?
#2 Xeadin Nov 20, 2009 21:12:35	My favorite (And this was one that I created) is an Eladrin ambassador for a Lich ruler that carries wands of devestation and can shoot down goblins with bull's-eye precision- with his Hand Crossbow!  He is a good character and has revolted against the Lich and wants to see the Lich off of the royal chair.
#3 owls_and_more_owls Nov 20, 2009 22:09:04	She was a DMPC. A Changeling Artificer who claimed to be able to talk to the party's weapons and armor, telling them if they were happy or not (The barbarian's axe was not very happy). She also would occasionally seek the guidance of a Cartograph that she carried around about where to go, much to the groaning of the rest of the party. She also had a bit of a Mad Scientist's complex.
#4 pigknight Nov 20, 2009 22:30:30	My favorite NPC is Random Zombie #553: Player 1: I charge the zombie. DM (Me): Ok you hit it. Him, and his zombie buddies grab onto you *roll* and drag you to the ground. Player 1: Zombies don't bum rush people! DM + Player 2: THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO!
#5 The-Mage-King Nov 21, 2009 17:52:26	My favorite is one I ran named only 'the dwarven fish merchant'. He was the single most bloody annoying character in that campaign, and he kept trying to sell electric eels to the PC (singular). Eventually the PC gave up, bought some, and saved them to kill the merchant with later. Ah, fun times...
#6 ukplayerx Nov 23, 2009 6:07:33	Not D&D but a V:TM NPC He was the Mentor to a player & a member of the Primogen, the ruling council, and I got quite attached to him, and the players knew it! Anyway i sat down one weekend and decided to put a big spanner in the works for the whole city campaign (Birmingham, England) To cut a long story short, while the Coterie were away for a year, the city fell to the Cathayans and he disappeared assumed Finally Dead! the player was gutted - what I actually did was the NPC had succumbed to The Beast so the Nosferatu had staked him to use as a bargaining tool!! Memories, sweet memories......
