| #1fenrir7139Feb 15, 2009 11:22:09 | So, I just rented Dead Space. For those of you that don't know, it's a Survival/Horror video game for the PS3, Xbox360, and Wii. Anyway, it scares the crap out of me. I'm not easily scared, usually, but something about this game just freaks me the $#@! out. So, without anymore rambling, what scares you guys? Ya' know, creepy movies, tarantulas, Michael Jackson... :P |
| #2Fox_ReeveheartFeb 15, 2009 11:38:18 | bees |
| #3fenrir7139Feb 15, 2009 11:42:07 | bees Yeah, bees are pretty damn creepy. One time, I got stung in the neck. Then, a couple of days later, a wasp stung me. In the neck. IN THE SAME SPOT! That sucked SO hard... |

No need to be afraid of snakes if you know which ones to stay away from, etc. I've always been a cheerful and endlessly optimistic person. I am never sad, or even really moody. I will even overdo the cheer if I see someone is getting irritated. It's not my fault they refuse to be happy, after all. Recently, however, I've been watching altogether too much television and I've found something that disturbs me, though I couldn't brand it as true fear. I've seen these commercials for depression medication, and the thought that I might ever get depressed sits on my mind long after the commercial is gone and forgotten. That would be the scariest thing I could think of. Not being happy at all, for prolonged periods of time. |
| #5Mad_JackFeb 16, 2009 20:47:29 | Actually, the thought of being stuck in a permanent "happy" state disturbs me.... |
| #6pigknightFeb 16, 2009 22:16:20 | Unicorns crapping sunshine 'n rainbows. |
| #7powerattackfortwentyFeb 16, 2009 23:47:02 | Umm, i fear snakes, non-soda caffeine drinks, and cooties |
| #8KillerGMFeb 17, 2009 0:49:01 | Funny you should mention Michael Jackson. When I was younger, I was deathly afraid of "Thriller". I used to turn off the radio whenever it would come on. |
| #9IdolisFeb 17, 2009 1:36:36 | Heights and Ladders. I'm okay with steps and elevators but climbing on a ladder scares the hell out of me. Don't know why just does. |
| #10space_dragonFeb 17, 2009 2:06:21 | Spiders and darkness are the only really irrational fears of mine I can think of. Beyond that, I'm scared of the same things you'd expect a reasonable person to be afraid of; losing loved ones, failing at life, animals that can eat me, etc. |
| #11silennaFeb 17, 2009 5:32:32 | Apart from the pretty universal fears of failure, loss and serious illnesses, two things scare me most: rotting things and bees/wasps. I know it's an irrational fear, but I really really hate moldy or rotting things. Just looking at it makes me sick. I might be able to clean something up with scalding hot water if almost all of the disgusting stuff is scraped off and put into a trash can far, far away, but that's asking a lot. (Yeah, I sooo need a dish-washer!)My fear of bees is justified by an allergy. I was 13 and got stung in my palm. The bee sat above some climbing thingy at a playground, I had no chance to notice it before I swatted right into it. I ended up with my arm swollen up to the elbow, a numb hand, sepsis halfway up same arm and a lot of pain for 24 straight hours. Not fun. ![]() Nevertheless I enjoy being outdoors, walking barefoot and won't ever give it up. I just tend to get really careful and move slowly away if there is a bee nearby, but if it doesn't stop buzzing around me, crawls unto my clothes/skin or something like that I tend to freeze up and call for help. Something keeps me from truly panicking while I'm in danger, but what happens afterwards is another story. Apart from that I'm not easily scared. I enjoy creepy films and stories to either laugh at or fool myself with a healthy dose of willing suspension of disbelief, but the emphasis is on "willing" - I can snap out of it any time I like. |
