| #1cowboyhugbeesFeb 24, 2010 18:52:28 | pretty much what the thread title says. i've beaten Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age, and i'm looking for another RPG to jump into. i've narrowed it down to these three: 1) Final Fantasy XIII 2) Tales of Vesperia 3) Star Ocean things to know: i'm not a huge anime fan, but tales of symphonia for the gamecube was one of my favorite games ever. suggestions? |
| #2Cpt_MichaFeb 25, 2010 17:03:46 | Have you done Fallout 3 yet? |
| #3pigknightFeb 25, 2010 20:28:15 | Have thou tryest Daggerfall? |
| #4KlirshonFeb 25, 2010 20:31:52 | Isn't Daggerfall only for the PC? |
| #5pigknightFeb 25, 2010 20:32:57 | I'm sure he has a PC. |
| #6KillerGMFeb 25, 2010 20:34:01 | Tales of Vesperia was talky, and I had no idea how most of the mechanics worked. I didn't finish it, but I think I got close. The combat mechanics were interesting, though. I, too, will echo Cpt_Micha's question. If you haven't played Fallout 3, I recommend it. Just as a note: I have a terrible habit of not finishing RPGs. I finished Fallout 3 multiple times and got 100% on all the ACH (including all of the DLC) on two xbox profiles because I liked it so much. And there's currently the Game of the Year edition, which includes all (5, I think) DLCs. |
| #7KlirshonFeb 25, 2010 20:43:21 | I'm sure he has a PC. Perhaps, yet the topic was about games for the Xbox 360. If you've played Fallout 3, I suppose "eenie, meenie, miney, moe" might solve your dilemma. If you haven't played it, pick Fallout 3. |
| #8NovacatFeb 25, 2010 20:45:49 | The Tales series kicks all shapes and sizes of ass. I only got to play the first couple hours of Vesperia (it was awesome), but I've beaten Tales of Symphonia about half a dozen times. |
| #9pigknightFeb 25, 2010 20:48:09 | Modern Warfare 2. It has XP. |
| #10NovacatFeb 25, 2010 20:49:46 | If you're a fan of the Metal Gear series, MGS4 is probably the most kickass game I've played in the last 5 years. If you haven't played any Metal Gear games... frikkin get started. |
| #11cowboyhugbeesFeb 26, 2010 14:08:22 | 1) don't think MSG 4 is for 360 yet 2) beat the CRAP out of Fallout 3 3) daggerfall is about 90 years old (haha) thanks guys, i think i'm leaning towards vesperia |
| #12Cpt_MichaFeb 26, 2010 14:10:48 | I suppose you could try Lost Odyssey alot of people like it I find it mind numbingly slow with a pretty subpar combat and level up system.Blue Dragon is supposed to be pretty good too. This one I haven't played yet but I've been curious. If I can find it on the cheap I'll pick it up myself. |
| #13cowboyhugbeesFeb 27, 2010 15:32:58 | I suppose you could try Lost Odyssey alot of people like it blue dragon was fun but super super traditional turn-based combat. no weapons or armor, just "shadows". also some of the characters were irritating |
| #14Cpt_MichaFeb 27, 2010 15:41:20 | Last Remnant isn't bad either. (Not great mind you but it's not bad) |
| #15boj0Feb 27, 2010 21:08:44 | Well considering I beat Vesperia about 4 times, Iwould definetly reccomend that, it fufills all sorts of RPG OCD goodness |
