Of course the better solution would have been more expensive "bad parents and their kids only" flights rather then "no kids" flights.

But hey it's a start

Apr 01, 2011 9:18:51 You know, I'm of two minds on this. I try my best to keep my child entertained and/or quiet on flights, but you know, it's not easy! And people have to fly with kids - no matter how much I may want to, I can't just leave them alone.

I remember on a return trip from visiting family, I just could not get my then-six-month-old to settle down. I was walking him back in the galley, I sang to him, I rocked him in my seat, everything! And near the end of the flight, someone had the nerve to say (in a really mean tone) "Hey, can you actually do something about that kid?!?" I was already stressed out about it and felt bad about making everyone else suffer through it, but jeeze.

But it was one moment when I realized how awesome my husband is - he stood up at the end of the flight, looked back at the people behind us and asked "OK, who said that?" Nobody acknowledged it, so he pointed out one guy (a trick from the Army, thank you) and said "You, did you say it?" the guy said no and pointed to another guy, who then admited it. He dressed him down, telling him that his wife (me) had been trying everything she knew to settle the kid and was stressed out enough without him making it worse. The guy apologized. I love my husband. <3

I'm fine with people paying more for flights without children, though - because they are paying more.

I consider myself more considerate than most people I've seen (I would never allow my child to run up and down the isles), but I also know that flying with kids is stressful and usually neccessary. Everyone needs to be a little more understanding and considerate to their fellow passengers - with children and without!

*shrug*

But I wouldn't be surprised if Boraxe was right and it was just an April Fool's Day trick.

Apr 01, 2011 9:33:25 I already knew it was a joke upon scanning the phrase "Ryanair, the world's favorite airlines". I couldn't take this company news article seriously after that.
