(An April Fool's thread, originally titled: "The move will make 4E better!")

So now that WotC has announced its intentions to close its headquarters in Renton, Washington, and set up in London, England on account of global economic conditions, how do you think the proposed six-month publishing hiatus will affect the sales of 4E? Obviously I'm upset that 4E Eberron will be delayed until December, but I've always been a bit of a WotC apologist, so I have to admit that if this really does improve revenue for them, I'm all for it. After all, more revenue means more money to spend on producing quality D&D products for us, which means a healthier community and hobby overall; I wish WotC the best!

However, for the sake of posterity, I hope WotC doesn't forget to ask themselves: Are players relevant in London? Fans ought only look soulwards.

(PS: I willingly rely on the extremism this humble introspection should attract. So, if u seem especially distressed, think how every troll on Insider likely expresses themselves. :P)

Personally I don't believe moving their headquarters and the six month hiatus have anything to do with economics. It's all just smoke screen to distract us from the eminent release of 4.5.

People who regularly frequent my posts will know that I have been predicting this since the release of 4e, but no one was willing to listen, so I had to create dozens of dummy accounts in order to flood the message boards, but still every one laughed and harmoniously agreed that 4e was perfect and needed no alterations, WELL WHO'S LAUGHING NOW!!!

Hmm. While there are some valid points here, in general I don't understand many of their reassurances and, as a fan, I really feel a little deserted by the move. Frankly, I'm a bit hurt by it.

Yes. There were some balance issues. It seems some classes dealt slightly more damage than others, and some could wear armor unavailable to a few other classes.

Actually 6.839 was scrapped due to untenable balance issues, apparantly they're up to version 9,001 now; the posterboy class is going to be Witchaloks, but there's been some fairly major adjustments to the core workings of the class from the 4e preview.

Don't forget the other major change - all power source names were changed to various shades of light brown, such as Beige, Wheat, Tan and Khaki. WotC believes, and rightly so, that this change harmonizes many of the implied imbalances and inequities shared between the many power sources.

They've also decided to solve the damage\weapon\armor balance problems with a sweeping change. There is only one weapon and everyone can use it, all abilities do the same damage and apply the same effects and there is only one armor type, but nobody is allowed use it, ever.

Hey, I live in London (though I'm always the DM…)!

I know it's a joke, but it wouldn't be a good idea to move here, as it costs about £50 to walk down the street.

7th Ed is already available in Japan.

…But of course it's smaller, faster and cheaper.

Sweet... are Wolfoids playable? I'd rather see Wolfoids in the PHB than the MM (and obviously the reverse for Gnomes).

Full-blooded Wolfoids are only available as daily power summons to high level Witchaloks, but there's a Half-Wolfoid on the drawing board for a player race; jury is still out on what the other half is.

Actually the 9000th Ed D&D allows players to go super-saiyan when rules discussions go out of hand.

.. Also be sure to not play outside during night as moonlight turns the rulebook into a gigantic ape.

This is all due to a rules misinterpretation problem with the 9000th Ed and was corrected in edition 9001.

Wizards have announced plans to immediately cease production on all current 4e projects and release D&D version 6.21, these numbers standing for the sixth and 21st letters in the alphabet, F.U.

A grand total of three staffers are involved in writing, editing, and playtesting the new version, the rest being organised into commando squads which will storm the houses of anyone playing a 'heretical' earlier version and confiscate all banned material for ceremonial burning. Which three people these are is unknown, but rumors point towards them being Shelley Mazzanoble, Gabe and Lorraine Williams.

Details of the new edition are scarce, but it's believed that 6.21 will introduce a revolutionary new mechanic called "Fight for your Right to DM". Going by the assumption that having the same DM for a whole session is static and boring, 6.21 will introduce the "Conch of DMing", a large shell prop which grants the right to DM to whoever has physical control of it.

Players will be encouraged to use bribery, trickery, wrestling, and any means short of outright assault to grab the conch and start DMing. The possibilities are endless. Once you get to DM, you're 'God' and can bring your character back to life, grant him levels, dismiss all the last DM's stupid monsters he was gonna make you fight and declare the dungeon to be an All-Night Pleasure Palace, and more!

6.21 will be released in May, consisting of four books: Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual, and a Keep Fit Guide. Not wanting the more pasty players of Jell-O consistency to be disadvantaged by the new rules, they've given these people a chance to compete with more buff group members.
