So, as a treat for myself and my wife tomorrow, I was going to cook up a special meal. As I was looking through my cabinet and came across the greatest Udon noodles in the world. Problem with that is I don't feel like making an Udon, but I do want to use the noodles.
So, I am thinking of doing an Asian/Italian Fusion. Fusion cooking is my usual style of cooking so I am not to worried about that aspect, but I am not sure on the flavors I should go for.
I will be making a pasta, the Udon will be cooked in a garlic seasoned Dashi. I am leaning to a cream sauce, or maybe attempting a curry alferdo. My wife is not into spicy foods so it would be a mild curry, but with the right cheese mixed in the spice will be taken care of.
Now the hard part is choosing on a meat: We both love shrimp and seafood. I am a huge chicken fan, and she loves beef. If I time it right tomorrow, I have a chance of getting some Kobe Beef tomorrow, but I am thinking that the chicken might be the best option, if I can't get the Kobe. The meat will probably be sauteed.
Anyway, I am still really unsure, and have plenty of time to decide on this and wanted to grab some thoughts, maybe other people have ideas. Or an idea for a side dish.
The special occasion is my first spinal tap wohoo! (Very loooooooooooooong story behind the spinal tap and why its a celebration)
And your cooking sounds a bit like mine; I live in Japan, but don't know how to cook Japanese-style. So I just make what I like using the ingredients available, and it turns out as fusion 'cause that's what it seems to end up as when you use Japanese ingredients and western style cooking.
Anyway, yeah I enjoy mixing various flavors and cooking styles from different regions, you always get something unique, and so far unique has been good
