| #1boj0Mar 26, 2010 5:24:04 | Ladies and gentlemen of the Off-Topic Tavern, I give you: a VS thread. Who would win in a clash, Sub-Zero or Akuma? EDIT: The battlefield will be a neutral ground forest and Sub-Zero does not have access to the Lin Kui clan. Sub-Zero will be at his MK: Armageddon power level and Akuma will be from Street Fighter 4. Also, for all you kids who want to take the hardcore challenge, state why your choice would win...and then explain how he would proceed to fare against The Incredible Hulk after a 12 hour rest period. My choice: Sub-Zero, I think that he would be cunning enough to notice that Akuma will try to get into extreme close range to pull off his most powerful moves; Zero will then capitalize by creating an ice clone when Akuma tries to pull off his Shin Shun Goku Satsu technique. Decapitaion of a frozen demon ensues. After 12 hours he then proceeds to have an epic battle with the Hulk (I believe Sub-Zero would not be insta killed by virtue of the fact that he can fight GODS and live) he could potentially survive a few blows with ice clones/armor, but unless he managed to snap freeze the Hulk down to absolute zero (which he might not get the charge time to do), he will be stuck playing an evasive game until the Hulk can land a blow and begin a truley brutal offense (in which case the Green Scar takes home the cake). Alright folks, we haven't had a decent VS in a while, let's make one that doesn't suck! |
| #2oxybeMar 26, 2010 18:21:36 | hmmm... i haven't kept up on my MKology, but isn't armageddon when the "last" game in the timeline (disregarding MK vs DC)? if so we're comparing Sub-Zero at his best (this is only an assumption, the last MK game i seriously played was MK3 on the SNES so i can't gauge his power properly) VS Akuma when he's yet to do his more ridiculous stunts (in SF3, which happens after the events of SF4, akuma splits ayer's rock in half and kicks a nuclear sub out of the water. though even by some the earliest games in the series' chronology, alpha 2, he can already destroy small islands by punching the ground...). also, are we going by in-game strength (SF4 is akuma at his most balanced and least borked) or by cannon strength (though he's not at his "best" by the end of SF4, well... he's already destroyed small islands)? either way, Akuma isn't a pushover. he's fast, can hurl multiple fireballs from multiple directions, hit fast enough to juggle your body in mid-air, has a partial teleport, can theoretically channel hell through your soul (potentially destroying it, if we go by Shun Goku Satsu's cannon description) and is overall ridiculously physically strong. i'm also not sure how the SGS will affect sub-zero. mostly since i'm still unsure on the status of his (sub zero) soul and (i'm going by the SF wiki description) half of the hells are described as fire elemental, half ice (the last one that does the kill, is fire though). in the end i'm handing it to akuma by bias of familiarity. sub-zero is no push over, but my experience hasn't left me to believe he could beat akuma in a fight. akuma isn't an idiot... fireball spam to test SZ's reaction time, teleport away from his close ups and drop a pummeling on him. if SZ creates a big old unmoving ice clone, just ignore it or teleport through it. akuma VS hulk is interesting. it all depends if he can get the Shun Goku Satsu off IMO. i highly doubt hulk has learned techniques on how to empty his soul (which is mostly how the survivors of the technique managed to live through it) so that could seriously mess him up. either way, it's going to be hit & run for a while until he can find out how to stall the big guy long enough to drop him with the instant hell murder. hulk at his best has the endurance and strenght to punch a hole through either fighter while taking their best hits, and while akuma's durability is inhuman i don't know how he would stand up to hulk (side note: the guy can endure the high underwater pressures in cannon but has historically had a low HP/durability to offset his power). it'll probably hinge on how effective the SGS is on the Hulk and if the A-Bomb can even pull it off. |
| #3pureheart1975Mar 26, 2010 18:24:21 | This is too hard because I don't know which one Akuma is. I do however have MK vs DCUniverse! I could do better if the choice was Sub Zero against one of them :P |
| #4oxybeMar 26, 2010 18:29:16 | streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/Akuma has most of the information you'll ever need on him |
| #5QubeMar 29, 2010 5:01:18 | I'm saying Akuma. Simply because IIRC akuma originally was a endboss. Sub-zero wasn't |
| #6Duke5150Mar 29, 2010 7:30:07 | Hulk > Akuma > Subzero. The Hulk is an undefeatable plot device and neither Akuma nor Subzero has gamma powers, so they would get smashed. That's assuming neither of them murders bruce banner before he has a chance to throw a fit and become the hulk. As for Akuma vs Sub. That's got to be a joke. Sub zero sucks. ![]() |
| #7QubeMar 29, 2010 7:39:21 | Hulk > Akuma > Subzero. Sub would probably kill bruce banner. Akuma however, "... fights only to test his strength and his opponent's. This means that he will only fight opponents that will provide a challenge, hence his refusal to fight unworthy challengers under any circumstances" so he'll force bruce in the hulk & then lose ... |

| #9QubeApr 02, 2010 3:34:25 | "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like ..." *Shater* well, you woudn't like me either when I shatter! ![]() |
| #10toastedamphibianApr 02, 2010 6:51:48 | "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like ..." *Shater* Not true. I love man shards. |
| #11EscherEnigmaApr 02, 2010 11:41:16 | Better for someone to shater then to Shatner. Once they start... monologuing... in that stop... and go... voice... you can... never... stop them... ever... |
| #12zombie_babiesApr 02, 2010 11:46:51 | Everyone should talk like Shatner. It's the shat. |
| #13dirtyfrankApr 02, 2010 12:37:08 | I've liked SF more than MK so i'll say win to Akuma. |
| #14EscherEnigmaApr 02, 2010 12:55:46 | Everyone should talk like Shatner. It's the shat. But... then every... mono-... -logue... would take... far... too... long... too finish... and then... the lack of... proper... punctuation... because of... all the... damn... ellipses... would cause... us to ... not know when... the ... end of... a sentence... is reached... and we... of course... would have... needlessly... long and... drawn... out... posts... that are... annoying... and difficult... to ... re-... -ad... |
| #15zombie_babiesApr 02, 2010 12:57:00 | Everyone should talk like Shatner. It's the shat. See?! ![]() |
