I didn't mind BSG, though I don't care much one way or the other if It's gone. They still run Farscape reruns, so I doubt that SyFy [or whatever the hell they call themselves these days] would not run BSG to keep the viewers happy.
Everyone who I knew who bad mouthed BSG quickly had a change of heart when they actually watched it. My dad, he HATES science fiction, but he even liked the show. Now excuse me, I have to go find a new purpose for Friday Night.

It was a great show. Apparently, there's to be some sort of spin-off with a mini-series (show?) called Caprica. It looks to be quite different from BSG, though.
The whole "The Plan" miniseries looks interesting.

I think that would be the best date I have ever heard of. If at all possible, you must secretly tape the whole thing from start to end. Then, after you get beat on for being a punk, post it on YouTube. Within three days I guarantee you will reach online celebrity status. Within a week I predict a talk show with Oprah. And then, from this highest seat of power, you can vouch for the awesomeness of BSG and rally the support of the world to your cause in order to keep the show going. After witnessing the awesomeness of your words, even Obama himself will put his Presidential weight behind your cause and voila!

Nah, Farscape is one of those underground Cult shows that either you love it or you hate it. Or either you've heard of it or you haven't. I loved the tar out of it, still watch the odd rerun every now and then. It was pretty unique and original when it came out, compared to all the other oddball Sci-Fi shows at the time. So I loved watching it for that alone.
Yeah, I'm going to check it out, but I'm not sold yet. Looks ok.
I do agree about the ending, too. I was surprised as hell when all the fun killing and exploding stuff ended with so much show to go. It felt like it was drug out for the sole purpose of making the viewer sad. Watching so many characters die or simply vanish was ok by itself - even if it was a bit over the top. But then they cheapened the little good they did with that by showing the angels in our present. And it added so many holes if we were to take it seriously. I dunno. I guess it felt like they tried too hard on that last one. I'd have rather theyShowjust ended it by ending the war. With the 5 giving the others resurrection and an unstable truce. Then they use Starbuck's song to find Earth and move on.
The only thing I found redeeming about the way they did it wasShowThe implication that Hera was the progenitor of humanity and what that means for each individual cycle of humanity and it's cylon-ness. At some point that has cycle out and lead to a differing development for humanity, right?
I got a little choked up during the scene with Adama and the Pres flying down to the planet, too. That was a good sendoff for both of them I think.
ShowYeah, I got choked up a couple of times myself. Watching the old man leave Galactica. Watching him and Laura fly off leaving Lee and Starbuck behind. Seeing Lee alone. At least they made you kind of ok with that since he was obviously in a very different place than she was - and I'm not just talkin' angel stuff, here.
It was a little irritating that the Chief was so selfish. He could have waited about 2 more mins before he snapped her neck. I guess it wouldn't really have mattered, though. What with the nukes on their quite fateful way. ;)
I thought Hera being what she was was pretty cool at first. I'm not so sure now. I mean, why wouldn't "we" find a part of a raptor or a case from the fleet? Sure, metal decays, but there's a ton of other stuff in those things, too. I know that's going way too far into stuff, but when they moved it to "really earth", that's the way my brain looks at it. I'm not up on my continental formation theory, but wouldn't Earth have looked much differently than they portrayed it 150,000 years ago? See? There I go again ... :P
ShowI thought Tigg's statement there at the end was pretty great; "I'd have done the same thing." Of course, he's got so much internalized awesome it blew out one of his eyes and they had to patch him up.
For the rest of it, do we know how long they've been gone from earth? Long enough and anything breaks down, especially if their technology advanced significantly after they left for good. Cities and such would leave deposits of minerals and such, but not necessarily anything else.
For the continental formation, we don't know that this is "our" cycle, do we? Most likely those are in constant flux and it just depends on when they make it back what it looks like when they make it to X stage of development. Go through enough cycles and you'll probably see them expanding and contracting over the millenia.
