May 08, 2011 17:33:43 I noticed the article didn't say what school district. I live in Iowa and that sounds like something that would happen in the western half of the state. That bit over towards the west is a bit behind the times due to the lack of civilization. The eastern half of the state is where most of the people are and where most of the industrial production* is.

*the guidance systems for most of the missiles the US Army uses were built in Iowa. New flight avionics are developed here as well, at a little company started by Arthur Collins and later bought by Rockwell international. And don't forget that the food grown here is prepared, packaged and shipped from here.

Might I suggest raising taxes to pay the people with real money?

No no no... It is cheaper and more beneficial to keep people stupid and drunk. Higher taxes may actually create an environment where things can get paid. Then there would be an expectation of things working. This cannot be allowed. Have a few drinks, drive some annoying kids to school, and crash into a telephone post. That's the way it should be.

Funny you should ask. I was had a nightmare that I couldn't find a job, so I ran for public office. It was horrible. I felt didrty afterwards... and not in a good way.

I can barely stand Guild Politics, real life politics would kill me. Or at least cause me to snap and "do America a favor" and kill every elected official I could get my hands on.

Because it's BOOZE. I think giving booze to people who are responsible for driving kids around safely is a bit reckless. It's just inviting disaster.........and a major lawsuit when one of them gets into an accident drunk.

For the drivers to go to the bar, redeem their vouchers, carefully transport the drink home so that they can quaff them before getting behind the wheel the next day would be very odd behavior. Face it, if they redeem the vouchers they're not going to be getting behind the wheel before they've slept it off anyway.

May 09, 2011 20:28:01 I'm actually hoping that I can get a job as a lobbyist or a state politician. I figure it's a pretty good job and I might be able to do something good, eventually. Plus, I get to travel around a bit and piss people off. What's not to like?
