Allen Iverson's "Practice" Jim Mora's "Playoffs" Herman Edwards' "You play to win the game" Denny Green's "They were who we thought they were" Bob Knight's "Gameface" Mike Gundy's "I'm a man, I'm 40" Serena Williams' "I'll take this ****in' ball..." John McEnroe's "You cannot be serious" First of all, what are some other great rants that I missed. And which rant is your favorite? My favorites would definately be "Practice", "Playoffs", and "You play to win the game". They're just so simple and funny. But from them, its hard to pick, but I'd have to say Iverson wins in my mind. His rant is just so long without actually saying anything besides "we talking practice" and "not a game", but it somehow goes on and on. And the way he says "practice" differently as if it makes a better point is just great. Herm Edwards would get second though primarily because its so simple and applicable. And the added line of "You don't just play to play" (or something like that) and "Hello!" |

Second would be a toss up between 'You play to win the game' and 'They are who we thought they were' because both are really fantastic. My favorite sports quote, though, isn't a rant. In response to a reporter asking how he planned on paying his latest $25k fine, Randy Moss came up with this gem: 'Straight cash, homey!' Just spectacular. ![]() |

| #4scypioJun 16, 2010 12:05:28 | Yeah, Randy Moss is really a rare find when it comes to quotes. Too bad he doesn't care enough to go on rants. I was actually thinking about Denny Green's rant while I was at lunch. I didn't think I gave it enough credit because he's really fiery and into it. "If you want to crown them, crown them!" And "They are who we thought they were... and we let them off the hook!" I showed my wife a few rants a few years ago, but she didn't appreciate them. Although I think she was amused by Iverson's and his craziness. The Serena Williams' one is good. I should add that to my OP. That also reminded me that McEnroe's "You cannot be serious" should be added also. |
| #5zombie_babiesJun 16, 2010 12:21:41 | Yeah, that 'crown them' part is the best. Wasn't that the year the Bears got annihilated in the SB, too? Just makes it more funnier. ![]() |

He actually did really well even though everyone thought he would get killed. I wonder if Rackers made that kick, if Leinert would had more success. |
| #7zombie_babiesJun 16, 2010 12:33:43 | Well, we may see how good he is now that Warner's gone. I think. Ya just never know with the NFL. If the Raiders can stick with Russel for as long as they did and the Cats stick with Delhomme as long as they did and the Titans could be so reluctant to play Young, who knows who we'll see start? |
