Thus, cat-girls were to be trusted and used as a primary defense against the eldritch abominations of the Great Old Ones and Those That Walk Between Stars.

#5 The_Silversword Apr 17, 2011 17:04:08	I had heard that HP Lovecraft used to hang out with Aleister Crowley, and together they made up and wrote the Necronomicon. This is what ive heard anyway, I dont have any facts to go on or anything, anybody else heard anything like that? Or know anything about it? I also heard another story that the 2 of them was hired by the US government to perform some wiggy ritual out in the middle of nowhere, the ritual was claimed to be a failure, but... they supposedly did the ritual out in New Mexico, real close to Roswell, dum dum dum!!!!! That story sounds less credible though.
#6 WolfLordBran Apr 17, 2011 17:07:06	Lovecraft never actually wrote a Necronomicon. It was simply a McGuffin in his stories. Several authors have written their own version of the Dread Tome later on. I own one myself.

I’ve heard that you could make money by helping out a country in Africa…it must be credible I got an e-mail from someone who knows someone; maybe you should try this. There is no known connection between Aleister Crowley and Lovecraft other that they were contemporaries. Lovecraft was know to correspondent with Robert Bloch (Psycho), Clark Ashton Smith and Robert E. Howard.  Crowley was known to William Butler Yeats (poet). Lovecraft himself adopted the stance of atheism, while Aleister Crowley influential member of the esoteric Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and later founded his own occult society. Crowley may have been an agent for British Intelligence in America during the First World War, under a cover of being a German propaganda agent and a supporter of Irish independence.  Later During World War II, Ian Fleming (Bond author) and others proposed a disinformation plot in which Crowley would have helped an MI5 agent. The Necronomicon was written by “Simon” an ordained priest of an Eastern Orthodox church and a student of magic, occultism, and religion.
