| #1idhrinielAug 14, 2009 8:32:13 | They say that if you start showing symptoms of H1N1 (swine flu), you should stay home from work/school and stay away from large groups. Now why should we D&D players listen to that? I haven't had a normal flu shot in 4 or 5 years, and I never contracted it. It hasn't kept me from wanting to play D&D either. Any one else have an opinion that they'd like to share in light of this "crisis"? |
| #2oxybeAug 14, 2009 10:20:59 | what's swine flue again? ;) i usually get general symptoms of a lot of stuff: headaches, lethargy, loss of appetite, stiff joints, stuffyness, ect... i actually have a few of them all year around (my sinuses are always stuffed. always.) i get better though. when i start feeling sick i start the "home remedy treatment", which consists of several cartons of orange juice and enough chicken noodle soup to drown an elephant, as well as even more rest then i normally have. it has kept me from D&D a few times, but those were instances of "don't you dare make me get out of bed, i have several heavy, blunt objects in my room and a box cutter". if i'm too sick for work, i'm too sick for D&D. if i can get to work that day, i'll see how tired i am and decide on the bus ride home. |

Quarantine yourself till you get better douche bag :P H1N1 isn't a deadly flu. Hell it's just a flu. standard operating procedure here. |
| #4subsistcyberAug 14, 2009 10:33:06 | Swine flu is a strain of the flu. Nothing more, nothing less. It's totally blown out of proportion. |
| #5idhrinielAug 14, 2009 10:35:30 | H1N1 isn't a deadly flu. Tell that to the family whose pregnant daughter died simply weeks after her brother died. Then again, thats why they created Tamiflu. And vaccines. It's not the first time Swine Flu's come up, either. We were hit with it in the 70's. |
| #6Cpt_MichaAug 14, 2009 10:39:20 | Let me rephrase that. It's not the Spanish Flu. Or the Chinese Flu. It's just a Flu. Yes Flus can kill you, but H1N1 so far has not proved to be any more lethal than a normal strain of flu. |
| #7WolfLordBranAug 14, 2009 10:57:42 | Obviously us gamers have an inbuilt immunity to diseases like this... or maybe it's cause I'm a gnoll. Either way, we should be fine. *munches on pile of roadkill* Go +4 to Endurance checks against Disease! *gnoll laughter* :D |
| #8idhrinielAug 14, 2009 10:59:45 | lol...its a possibility...outlandish, but still possible |
| #9WolfLordBranAug 14, 2009 11:13:35 | Just think about it for a minute. As gamers, we ingest copious amounts of junk food and similar fare, most if not all of which is filled with all sorts of synthetic and artificial components. Eventually you ingest enough that your body now begins using those components, making us more resistant or even immune to disease! It all makes sense now, so I'll be accepting my Nobel Peace Prize. |
