| #1EscherEnigmaOct 26, 2010 12:28:37 | So who's dressing up for Halloween? Who's making their own costume? Who's just going to walk around with a stick and slap all the teens and adults that are trick or treating? For myself, I'll be in a costume I threw together1. And at work. Most of the day. I won't get home till after most trick-or-treaters have stopped making the rounds. Not that I expect we'll get many anyway, as our house scares the kids and our two front doors confuse people2. _________ 1From the neck down it'll be things from my closet, but the mask is cobbled together from a variety of things. It actually looks pretty neat, though it's not quit edone yet. Yes, there will be pictures. No, I'm not giving more detail before I post pictures. 2Not side-by-side, either. From the "front" of the house the path splits leading to two small concrete patios, each with a front door. These doors lead to two different rooms with a room between them. It's really kinda weird. Whenever someone knocks at the door I end up checking both front doors 'cause I'm not sure which one they were at. Same with when UPS drops off packages... sometimes they leave the package at one door, sometimes the other. |
| #2jesse.two.coinsOct 26, 2010 12:58:37 | my house is the same way escher. And yes, I get to be a theme DJ for a halloween party lol I'm going to be an old fashioned gangster ![]() |
| #3ADHadhOct 26, 2010 13:27:00 | (Why am I even viewing this thread? I have work to do!) |
| #4zombie_babiesOct 26, 2010 14:16:31 | I told my friend we should buy designer distressed jeans, some TapOut, Affliction, Silver Star or Ed Hardy shirts and go as d-bags but he said he already had a costume and I don't feel like wasting my money on that garbage. |
| #5PinnacleOct 26, 2010 14:18:22 | I doubt I will at this point. I gots no place to go, anyway, except play practice (where I probably shouldn't) and church (where I definitely shouldn't, especially since I'm cantor this week ). Though I should get one; Halloween is my birthday. We don't get any trick-or-treaters here, either. It's not so much that our house is scary (though I s'pose it could be), but we're the only residence on our block. There used to be one other, but she was mean and didn't like children and pretended she wasn't home; the city owns that house now (it's one of the oldest blocks in the city, and the houses have all fallen into city hands over the years, usually after being donated; one is used for functions, one is a museum, one is the library, one is the historical society's archives, and one still has descendants of the original family [us] living there). The kiddies don't bother coming this way just for one house, but occasionally we get a group or two so we'll have candy ready. You should put a sign on one telling people to go to the other. Or get different-sounding doorbells. Was the house at one time two seperate units? ![]() |
| #6scypioOct 26, 2010 14:19:46 | Nice, you should still be a bro or tool for Halloween, Zombie_Babies! I'm not sure what I'll be yet. The wife and I are both trying to think up some last minute costume ideas. It just felt like Halloween snuck up on me this year so I didn't think up a costume idea. I was thinking of stuff from slutty female to black mage to zombie someone, but still have no idea... And for some odd reason, I actually like giving out candy to the kids. Normally, I dispise children, but I guess I like the idea of costuming and stuff. Pretty odd, but I guess that's just how I roll. |
| #7zombie_babiesOct 26, 2010 14:24:36 | Nice, you should still be a bro or tool for Halloween, Zombie_Babies! I'm actually busy that day. Heh. It was mostly a joke but I really do think it'd be funny to do ... well, at least 'til one of the real d-bags asks me what I'm supposed to be and I tell him. ![]() |
| #8adun_irvingOct 26, 2010 14:27:46 | I'll be going as Albert Wesker from Resident Evil (more from the new movie than from RE5, simply because Wesker in RE5 ended up too dumb to live and a clipped-winged version of himself). Setting up the house with tombstones and the like, and really, I wish I had a fog machine, but I don't have the scratch. |
| #9Robin_HoodlumOct 26, 2010 17:17:38 | Going with the sister-in-law and all the kids, around the neighborhood... and that's about all the excitement I could handle... |
| #10EscherEnigmaOct 26, 2010 18:15:40 | You should put a sign on one telling people to go to the other. Or get different-sounding doorbells. A sign might work, but there is no doorbell in the first place. Was the house at one time two seperate units? Don't think so, unless there was some serious remodelling afterwards. Mostly it's just a strange old house. There's no hallways, no closets, no windows that open, most of the doorways have a window above them to let light through, a strangely placed large bay window. The bathroom is tacked on (literally, it's obviously not part of the same foundation as the rest of the house), the kitchen about the same, there's four doors to the outside, speaking of doors, not a single door or window frame in the entire house is straight. All the glass is either custom-fitted or had copious amounts of sealent to make up for the not-right angles. Did I mention that all the hanger-space is open to the rooms (like I said, no closets)? In one of the bedrooms there's just a metal rod going between two walls. Anyone walks through and they see everything in our "closet". The lack of closets also means that all our linens and things are in chests instead of on shelves. It's a pretty weird house. |
| #11Ragnar_LodbrokOct 26, 2010 18:18:01 | I'll just be the most terrifying thing I can think of. Specifically, I'm not dressing up. Especially since I just hand out razorblade-filled objects normal, tasty candy with absolutely no broken razorblades in it . |
| #12pigknightOct 26, 2010 18:26:14 | I'm just walking around with a plush Cthulhu. "What are you?" "A cultist of the great Cthulhu. Cthulhu f'taghn!" |
| #13EscefOct 26, 2010 18:50:05 | I haven't dressed up for Halloween since... '96? |
| #14Mad_JackOct 26, 2010 23:54:49 | I may or may not dress up for Halloween... If I do, I'll just throw on my Eddie costume - on the 30th, one of the New England area Rocky Horror casts is doing a show at the casino near my house, and I'm on call as a backup performer in case something comes up (I'm packing my Crimmie, Dr. Scott and Eddie costumes, since I don't know which part I may have to cover). I dunno if I'm really gonna feel like dressing up two nights in a row, so if I do end up performing on the 30th, I probably won't get dressed up Halloween night. |
| #15MechaPilotOct 27, 2010 0:01:07 | I also haven't dressed up for Halloween for a long time (since I was young enough to Trick or Treat). I'd probably do it for a Halloween costume party (assuming I had the cash to get a decent costume), but I've never been invited to one beofre. I suppose it makes sense though. Halloween is my birthday, and the party isn't supposed to be about me. |
| #16jesse.two.coinsOct 27, 2010 6:55:21 | I'm just walking around with a plush Cthulhu. one of the bloated squishy ones? |
| #17zombie_babiesOct 27, 2010 9:16:26 | I haven't dressed up for Halloween since... '96? I did once in the 2ks but it was for a house party thing. Before that I honestly can't remember the last time. I know it was before '96 that I stopped dressin' up. |
| #18Cpt_MichaOct 27, 2010 10:58:38 | I haven't dressed up for halloween in like 10 years. I keep meaning to. But meh. I don't really do anything special on halloween. Then again, I don't really do anything special on most holidays. |
| #19MechaliburOct 27, 2010 11:16:02 | In my neighborhood, there were almost no kids at all. Halloween was never really celebrated. Which is probably a good thing since I'm no good at costume making. |
| #20ADHadhOct 27, 2010 12:28:42 | If I already made a pointless post here... I'm not dressing for Halloween because we have no Halloween. I, for one, am happy about that. |
| #21PinnacleOct 27, 2010 12:36:09 | I'm not dressing for Halloween because we have no Halloween. ... Did your calendar get broken? ![]() |
| #22jesse.two.coinsOct 27, 2010 12:38:02 | I love halloween great month for DnD |
| #23MechaliburOct 27, 2010 12:50:11 | I'm not dressing for Halloween because we have no Halloween. Halloween isn't celebrated everywhere... |
| #24evilveganOct 27, 2010 13:06:03 | I'm going as Scott Pilgrim, my wife is going as Ramona Flowers... |
| #25ADHadhOct 27, 2010 14:50:34 | I'm not dressing for Halloween because we have no Halloween. Does yours have Indepence Day on November 11th? Mine does. |
| #26boraxeOct 27, 2010 14:56:15 | Did your calendar get broken? No, but apparently your atlas did. |
| #27jesse.two.coinsOct 28, 2010 6:42:12 | Did your calendar get broken? haha ouch! |
