Yep, it's that time of year again: The time of year where people dress up and go to strangers' houses to ask for candy (at least in the US). Since costumes are traditional, what are you this year? (Pig, we all know you'll just be wearing your fursuit, so you need not answer this. We don't need the mental images.) What are your plans?
Well, I'm stuck handing out candy this year, so no free food for me :'(. Since I only had a few days to put together a costume, I got a mask, a flannel shirt and a plastic machete (I'm not allowed to have a real one... I think my parents fear I'd use it to kill people. I have no idea why.) so I can be the slasher from some B-rated horror film.
I will be spending the Holiday the same way I spend most holidays; Alone, in my room, and silently loathing the whole of humanity.
Halloween? I'll be a misanthropic programmer buried in a computer lab trying to get the kinks of redundant code elimination worked out. Probably till about 2 am.
Carving pumpkins, seperating the seeds from the goo, passing out candy and the traditional Holloween feast of sloppy joes, its my favorite holiday.
Designing diabolic pumpkins and creating a suitably weird display with them. We have a reputation for insane jack o' lanterns ever since we did the homicide scene on the front porch. I didn't realize how great a job we did until the following year when a little boy came by with his mom and saw our new murder scene. I heard him say "Look, mama! They killed another one this year!"
We're pretty much one of the "cool houses", as we dole out generous amounts of the good stuff; some generic stuff mixed in with readily identifiable names, such as Snickers, Hershey's, M&M's, Reese's, etc. And yes, we give out the full-sized bars. It gets a little expensive, but Halloween and Christmas are two of my favorite holidays.

The one in southern Ohio. They too let you bring your weapons, though I think they have to be sheathed so the crazies shouldn't go willy-nilly with their toys... takes just one jerk to ruin the fun for everyone else. (I presume the other word I used would get me into trouble if I kept it there.)
The one sort of between-ish Cincy and C-Bus? I went there a long time ago with my gf at the time. They didn't allow weapons then. Maybe they changed. I dunno. Was it near a lake-ish thing or something and did it have a castle thing?
This year I decided too go as something casual, nothing fancy, horror-ish or over-the-top. I'm just going to wear a pin-stripped suit and carry a violin case with me to store candy. Real "Original Gangster" style, you know? Like a true Mafioso, none of that horrible imitation crap you get from "Gangstar's", these days.
This year I'm taking my little niece and cousin with me as their mother is working late that day and the father is out of town.
I guess I won't have much of a costume myself but the kids will be so happy to be able to go out for free candy.
Some friends and I are doing a L4D themed group. We got: generic zombie, smoker, hunter (me), boomer, and witch. We're all walking in the Manhattan parade, and then getting completely ****-faced afterwards.

Probably. Northern facade/entry is a castle mock-up. Very large plot of land. Lake? Unsure.
Uh, Waynesville IIRC? About an hour north of Cincy/or south of C-bus. Go left off 71 North or right if southbound. There's signage everywhere. Also, Kroger's and a few other venues have discount tickets/coupons, etc. Probably an extra one or 2 on-line as well.
Not bad really. I highly recommend steak on a stake, Theatre in the (G)Round, the hired insultor (think of a Bard w/ ranks in intimidate/stand-up/perform), and at least 1 joust...hilarity is watching faux jousts and poorly choreographed stunts turn sour. Not sure what the weapons protocol is. I'd buy elsewhere anyway to avoid retail mark-up. Oh, and Nigel Sade and a handful of other fantasy artists traffic there (brids of a feather...) when they're not @ Gencon. Worth a look. If you see something a vendor is selling & you can get on-line, check their business cards for a site; likely you'll get it cheaper there or elsewhere.
As for me this year, everything is relatively tentative @ this point. Darkwave night @ club Thrs (Halloween time is their biggest/best) w/ friends, maybe a horror movie @ the theatre ("Zombieland" was gold, "Paranormal..." would've been good if not for chatty d-bags peppered around me in the cinema [breaks suspension of disbelief/annoying]) in that they recycle good and B-horror this time of year. Local drive-ins are also a nice hot spot (double & triple features for -8, can't miss). Devil's Night? Not a clue. Couple girls want to do the cliche local haunted house thing (2 of which I know suck bad), perhaps a tour of Spring Grove Cemetary (it's like 2nd or 3rd to Arlington, massive, old, regal). Halloween itself? IDK, and that perturbs me. No one is having a party and costume parties are the best (you can't discriminate much when all are in costumes [more carousing/socializing ensues]) as much, more common ground, better music, etc.).
Would like to try something w/ this black paint-on latex (from Hustler of all places, God...) ala Venom, gauze is cheap/plentiful, etc., and I'm pretty decent w/ make-up of the trauma variety. Easy and simple is better, especially when drinks w/ friends are involved...
L4D costumes: that's a kickass idea btw...when I saw the "ld4" in post, I was thinking Zoe, Bill, etc...this is even better. Go "hunter" (we call them "hoody punks") for ease. Though I pity the poor theoretical girl in her underwear (hope it's warm out) that goes as the "witch". G/L, have fun.
ZmbBab: Oh, and your name/profile was invoked most recently during the zombie movie indoctrination of my friend Stephanie. Long story short, she had not seen "Dead Alive" yet...bla bla bla. When he takes the damned baby to that park & it's acting up, I die laughing every time when you see the drunk hobo cheering Lionel on going, "Yeah!" while he beats the zombie baby back into submission. Zombie sex, kick boxing pastors, and rich & creamy custard FTW.

Last year Halloween was on a Friday and we dished out 300+ pieces of candy. With Halloween being on a Saturday this year we'd need a bank loan to get enough candy. Therefore the only solution is to leave before we run out.

I'm going to be at a goth/punk club in Tampa bay, the castle friday and saturday night, probably even rent a hotel room cause I don't want to drive back to lakeland. This year I'm going all out I have a french maid costume, heels and wig its going to be a lot of fun. I love Halloween, its a chance to get out there act a little wild and have fun, no way I could pass that up.
Well, my plans are to get up early and head into work. 
After that I plan to get some chicken on the way home and watch some movies.
I've just got the new live action Blood: The Last Vampire and anime movie Demon City: Shinjuku.
I'm going as Russell Crowe. Yes, Russell Crowe, as in the actor, rather than any of his characters from film. I've been told by a bunch of family and friends that I have facial features that look very similar to Mr. Crowe, and Gerard Butler, but less so with respect to Mr. Butler.
I wanted to do a half-orc barbarian a la Conan the Destroyer, complete with my execution axe with a spear point at the end of the handle, so its an execution axe OR an ugrosh. Sadly, the loincloth look doesn't look all that great on me, and though my dad is a taxidermist, I couldn't find a dead tiger far enough in advance to get one skinned, tanned and formed into clothing. Not that I would even use a real tiger pelt anyway (that's one hell of a waste when you could stuff it)... But I didn't find anything that would suggest a decent set of hide armor that wasn't prohibitively expensive.

I haven't dressed up for Halloween since 5th grade. Now all the kids moved out of the neighboorhood, and only 3 trick or treaters came to my house (all in one group). It's kind of sad, really.
That's a lot of symbols to put on one's stomach, or a lot of costumes to change into throughout the night.

I was a succubus. Didn't end up doing much, though. Stayed home with a friend, actually. So there was no reason to dress up, but it was fun.

LOL, I have lately been amazed at how many older teenagers and adults we get each year! Sweet criminy, I stopped at 6th grade! (Halloween parties were now the way to go. After all, when you're 11, you're not some mere kid anymore, right? Oh, so sophisticated... ;))
I ended up going to a charity benefit for an animal shelter where I volunteer with the boyfriend. (I was cross-dressing biker-man and he was some kind of army guy with a gas mask on...I'm still unsure of what he was supposed to be) We were going to go trick-or-treating afterwards (we're too old...but I wanted candy) but it was pouring down rain, so we ended up heading to Wal-Mart and picking up a four-pack of Nightmare on Elm Street 1-4 for about ten bucks and a sackful of Krystal's...can't beat that.
Ugh, I ended up in the hospital all weekend so I missed everything...
Halloween is still a foreign concept to me and I'll prefer to let it stay that way. I'm just as conservative as that on some topics.
Gwavaween was AWSOME!! I had so many comments on my pink french maid costume it was great, over friday and saturday I posed for over 30 pictures with people, went to the castle both nights got some phone numbers, and saturday was a blast and a half. It was great.

This is what I went as. I went to a lame Halloween party last Friday, and then an awesome on the actual day. There was all sorts of stuff there: rave room, live band, booze, tweekers (it's so funny to play mind games with them) all sorts of stuff. It was fun.
