April 3, 1973 was the day the first call was made from a "personal phone" - we call them cell phones now - in the real world (meaning outside of a lab).

What do you think? Should we celebrate or curse that day?

I like my cell phone. I can go out and be reached. I also like texting, straight to the point, cause talking to people on the phone is just a bother.

What I do not like is those people who always check their every five minutes. I have a firend like that and I prefere to text him, instead of meeting face to face. But I do like his GF...

good grief you're odd

As long as you don't act on it, there's no harm done by looking.

Well... unless you make it really awkward looking Tongue out

You know, that just gave me the visual of the stereotypical mouth breather staring at a woman.

Thanks.

Also I curse this day. Cellphones have done nothing positive for our society as a whole compared to the Damage they've done. If anything they have made people Less Social in face to face interaction, and less capable of functioning independently of technology.

Wonderful, is it not? It may be a metaphorical stepping stone, but such efforts contribute to the machine society cause.
