Well, as some of you may have noticed, I have been gone since last Thursday when I went on vacation with my girlfriend to King's Canyon, Sequoia National Park and Yosemite.  Anyway, on Friday I asked her to marry me in front of the General Sherman tree and she said YES!  Good times.

Thanks guys.  We're thinking next March or May for the wedding date, but haven't narrowed it down any further than that at this point.  Discussions of the details are underway, though.

That's the funnest part!  (Ok, no it isn't  )  Seriously?  I had a really good time of it since I just told her to do whatever she wanted.  Heh.

Heh.  Last night she looked at me and said, "Okay.  This will make things easier.  Which things about the wedding planning do you actually care about?"  So I gave her a run down on which I did and which I didn't.  This will be my first and last wedding, so I'm looking forward to going over those things I actually have an interest in having a say in.

Yeah, if we would have done the wedding thing I'd have handled the music and that was about it.  Lucky for me we skipped that and just did an expensive honeymoon thing ... which she completely handled.  ;)

Sweet!

Don't be too afraid of speeding up the wedding date a little.  It worked for me! :D

You shouldn't joke like that. You might have people that mistake which thread they put the tux picture in and assume it was Orc'd and then you become suspect #1 in a mass PM send by that person to other OTTers but then in the morning one of the OTTers linked back here instead of the thread he thought he posted the tux picture in and he was all like "herp derp I'm a tree" and had to send ANOTHER PM that cleared your boney name that included a picture of a bunny that may have had a pancake on its head.

Theoretically.

Oh, free piece of advice- no matter what anyone says do not, I say again, do NOT save the cake top in the freezer for a year. If you want a cake to celebrate the first year, get a fresh brand new one a year later.

I "saved" mine for a week and had no intention of having it a year later. I thought a week it would be fine, but it was not.

So, what is Kings Canyon anyways? Is it anything like Kings Island?

Oh and congrats!

Thanks.  King's Canyon is another park like Sequioa.  In fact, it has some sequoias in it and is right next door.  Neighboring parks.  Very nice area to hike in.

I'm going to have to suffer the saved cake.  My fiance is traditional like that and will want to save it.  I'll live ;)
