Ok, Im not sure if I mentioned this, but the calendar were I work has all these crazy "holidays" that ive never heard of, ok let me rephrase that, I know that Ive mentioned it before, but im not sure if any one bothers to read my posts, or remember what I might have said a week ago.

Any way, today is International Beer Day!!! I think its a big deal cause most of the other days listed were just national ones, like national chocolate milk day or national chili dog day, but this ones International!! Im actually suprised Ive never heard of this before, national talk in an elevator day, yeah I can understand never hearing of that, but INTERNATIONAL BEER DAY?!!!

Anyway I just want to take this time to wish everyone a happy International Beer Day. To properly celebrate im gonna have to go out and get some international beers!!

Some of my personal favs:

Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout. I love dark beers, and this stuff is BLACK! Nice deep hearty taste, definitely at the top of my list.

OK actually St. Sebastian's is at the top of my list, but I can never find the stuff. Really good beer and it comes in this medieval lookin clay bottles or ceramic or whatever, any way the bottles look really cool, and its made by Belgium Monks so you know its goood stuff, right? The only time I can reliably find the stuff is at the local Oktoberfest once a year, so I need to stock up on it then.

And of course theres the beer that we're not allowed to say, good stuff, but I ussually have to get it on tap down at the local pub. Anytime I get it from a can or a bottle it just tastes flat to me, anyone else have that problem or is it just me? Get it from the pub though and its great stuff, almost up there with Samuel Smith.

Oh and I can hardly wait for next Tuesday, its national sneak a zucchini onto your neigbor's porch day! sounds like good times to me, especially if im still celebrating International Beer Day!!!

Hmmm, there is barely an hour left in the day...but I do have a 6 pack of the unmentionable beer, Old Rasputin, and Hitachino Ginger Stout.

I'm sending the day out in style.

Edit:
Why cant we say the name?

My drink of choice is Sailor Jerry rum & Coke.  As far as beer goes, I only drink Murphy's Irish Stout.

Hells yeah man, and here I thought I was going to be the only one celebrating!!  Never tried ginger stout before, sounds interesting, next time im at the premium beer store im gonna have to see if they got some of that!

Oh and from what I understand the forum censors G u i n n e s s cause it thinks that youre making a racial slur against Italians, yeah doesnt make much sense to me either.

I actually didnt make it to the premium beer store today, so I ended up with Michelob Dark, I ussually cant stand american beers, but this stuff aint too bad, not nearly as good as Samuel Smiths but still pretty good, far better than what I was expectin. I cant stand american pilsners, they just dont seem to have much flavor to me, you could give me a Budweiser or Gobel or Milaukee's Best and  I wouldnt be able to taste the differnce, they all taste the same to me.

And the way  I see it, its still International Beer Day until the sun comes up! and even then I might still be celebrating! Somehow I doubt it though, If I make it that long, then I havnt been celebrating right!!

Oh and I checked the calendar at work and tomorrow (Saturday) is Fresh Breath Day! Whos the genius that decided to make fresh breath day follow International Beer Day!?

NB4 Lock!
Beer is illegal for those under the age of 21, and this website is a "kid friendly" website, so mentioning alcohol and/or celebrating alcohol could be interpreted as a CoC violation and could result in thread lock or deletion, and banning of the offending poster.

Proceed with caution.

Yeah , but its the D&D forum right? And D&D games ussualy feature a tavern or two in them right? Thats ussually where the characters meet up before a quest or afterwards to divy up the loot. Shirley they wouldnt stop us from talking about beer, not on International Beer Day! I mean this is an international holiday!

I only drink JD. However enjoy your beer.

You only drink JD!? You should have some water everyonce in awhile man!! Hahaha! Naw im kidding, I get that you mean when youre drinking alcohol its JD, right!? Personally I prefer the Beam, it seems a little smoother to me, but not too smooth, like Crown Royal, I end up drinking way too much of that stuff cause it goes down too damn easy.

My drink of choice is Sailor Jerry rum & Coke.  As far as beer goes, I only drink Murphy's Irish Stout.

Never heard of Sailor Jerry, if I see it around I might have to pick some up, not ussually a big rum drinker though, unless im drinking mixxed drinks like a daiquiri or something, which isnt too often. I will definitely have to try some of that Murphy's Irish Stout, I do love stouts!

JD ... I just can't anymore.  If it's whiskey, it's Jameson's.  If it's bourbon, it's Knob Creek.  If it's scotch it's The Glenlivet or Glendfiddich.  If it's JD, I'm too drunk to know better.    I don't mind Gentleman Jack and Single Barrel's ok, too.  But yeah, not a JD fan.

It's bitter?

I'd say that it tastes more like burnt grains. I wouldn't really say it's bitter.

Gah, still haven't had a beer yet today. Oh yeah just remembered, my stout is done so I can put it in the fridge now! Can start drinking it a few hours from now!!!!1!

Picked up some Magic Hat beer, specifically Hex. It was the only one they had that wasnt labeled as a pale ale, looked kinda interesting, thought Id give it a try. Wasted 8 bucks on a 6 pack. Stuff is pretty weak, I was expecting some premium drinkage here, tasted pretty much like your standard American pilsner with an extra ingrediant that didnt really help it any.

Gah! why is good beer so hard to find!!!

So, did anybody sneak any zucchinis onto their neighbors porch?

GJD or single barrel are awesome. I buy those on special ocasions like weddings, funerals, & new years. Knob creek has really good flavor I'm just not a fan of the price. Even at costco it's almost one and a half again the price of JD.

I had some Jamesons at my gandfathers funeral I didn't really care for the flavor. It tasted like it needed to be mixed with something to make it drinkable. I prefer straight out of the bottle in a glass.

Yeah, Knob isn't as cost-effective as JD, that's for sure.    But I do like it.  And Jameson's works just fine for me straight.  Er, on the rocks.  It's pretty much the only way I drink it.  I don't do shots and mixing whiskey that's IMO that good is a tragedy, heh.  I do have it in the occasional Irish Carbomb, though.

It's also generally illegal for children to operate a motor vehicle, vote, or enter into a binding contract, but there's certainly no explicit or impled ban on the boards about  discussing cars, electoral process, or such things as cellphone plans and cable subscriptions.

You should start up a thread on one or more of those topics and see how long it/they last.

According to a document I saw posted, you can talk about the topic if you would normally talk about it in D&D. Since many adventurers are a bunch of drunks and always meet up at taverns and order beer, the subject of beer is kosher.

Well that seems a little off, religion and politics tend to pop up in D&D games as well!

Well, then, it must only be ok to talk about fake religions, then.

And kingdoms.  Maybe I should post about the Londom riots!

I almost kinda sorta did.  My mom isn't my neighbor, though, and she was home when I dropped it off.  Our zuchinni plants aren't doing all that well right now so I don't wanna give any away either.  I want 'em for us, dammit!  On the grill or covered in cheese or made into bread ... mmmm ... zuchinni ...

Push what?  I honest to god dropped a zuchinni off at my mother's house yesterday.  I was in the neighborhood and my wife asked me to.  Honest!
