Yup, Sonnen was the only one to say yes every single time a match with Jones was offered. Henderson should be thanking Sonnen for stepping in and taking the severe beating that Henderson would have gotten.Machida talks a lot of BS. He said he would have taken Jones's arm home to Brazil if he had been in Vitor's position. He should have taken the fight when offered to him... twice!
Don't get me wrong - those guys really know how to beat the crap out of each other, and it is entertaining (I watched the Ultimate Fighter first or second season - whichever with Forrest Griffin).

Believe it or not, they typically make people fight a bunch before they're given a title shot. Most cases, talk isn't enough. It's actually why people are upset about Sonnen getting the shot. He hasn't fought 205 in like 6 or 8 years or something. But yeah, they try to keep some meaning behind the belts. This is not one of those times. Then again, it's not like there's many guys that have resumes good enough to justify a fight with Bones. Sonnen took perhaps the best fighter in the world to 5 rounds the first time they fought ... and ... and he sells tickets and PPVs cuz ... cuz he talks a great game.

And he really didn't do anything amazing to earn a title shot. He beat Shogun... after what? Five rounds? It was a long, drawn out fight. Sure, it wasn't totally boring, but compare that to the beat down Jones put on Shogun for two and a half rounds. Shogun quit. He tapped out from the pumeling he was getting. Roided up henderson couldn't do it. Really, the only reason you want to see Henderson fight Jones is to watch Jons knock out the rest of Henderson's teeth. And the only reason you want to watch Sonnen fight Jones is to watch Jones shut Sonen up. It'll be awesome to watch that!

Henderson actually got a TRT pass. He was roided up for the Fedor fight. He was also roided up for the Shogun fight. I'm sure he was roided up when a lesser fighter helped him inure his knee (probably defending a take down). That knee inury was the best thing that could have hapened to him. Jone swould have taken him down with ease and elbowed Henderson to the point they would need a mop to clean up the mat inbetween rounds... if Henderson made it to the next round.

Actually, while Sonnen doesn't deserve the title shot, and people really want to see the fight just to see Sonnen crushed, those other guys all said no to the title shot when it was offered to them. So yeah, they wasted their time by saying no. Next time they should just man up. As for Henderson, he should have told White he had been inuured when it happened, not a week before the fight.

dood, this is the exception, not the rule. Aside from that, Jones has already dismantled everyone with a legitimate claim to a shot anyway.
