| #1CrackerjakeDec 28, 2008 1:45:17 | Sorry if this is in the wrong place, was looking for a good 'general' area for me to introduce myself and give what little gaming background I have. I'm new to D&D, and decided to search for more info on the interwebs, first stop was the website, found the forums, and wanted to be a part of it. So, here I am! I've played six sessions in my short D&D career, and am currently involved in two separate campaigns. In the first one, I have a second level human monk named Draakin Eaglefist. I did the coolest thing I have ever done in his first session, which was twirl around a draconian, rip a knife out of its ear (which it originally threw at me, I ripped it out of my shoulder, threw at it, and grazed its face and had it hanging in its ear), and flicked it at a draconian spellcaster, killing it :p. In the second one, I play a fifth level human ranger who has the highest kill count of the party (6=4 orcs (a raiding band, -got the leader!- and 2 half-demons who were really elves in disguise -oops!!-) I aspire to one day DM my own campaign, and am currently writing up plans and ideas on my mental whiteboard. If any of you have ANY tips or ideas or any rules of thumb for a newbie like myself, I welcome any and all. Thanks for putting up with my boringness, I'm sure you've all had hundreds of experiences like the one I've mentioned before, so I'll try to keep a lid on it :p |

I'm serious. read as much as you can. sourcebooks, novels, core rules from multiple editions, anything you can find until you find the combination that jives the best for you. it sounds like you're playing 3/3.5 in Dragonlance at the moment, right? Dragonlance is one of the coolest settings IMO, though I prefer Dark Sun Ebberon, or custom settings. anyway, enjoy your stay. |

And yes, we're playing in the Dragonlance setting for my monk, not sure about the second one, I never asked. I was having too much fun with my awesome rolls :p. And I'll be sure to, thanks :D |
