1'It', as used here, is not meant to imply anything specific or, more specifically, anything bad.  'It' can be taken as anything pleasant - such as a warm spring breeze or a walk on a sandy beach.  'It' most certainly isn't anything that could cause distress or discomfort as that would be bad.  And we don't want 'that'.  Which is why I chose to use 'it'.  Because, as we can now plainly see, 'it' is good and 'that' is bad.
