| #1eazy_eFeb 09, 2012 13:50:31 | Hey there OTTers! I am looking for a new RPG. I own many 4e books, and enjoy SAGA edition Star Wars. But now my interest is waning in both games, for now at least. So I'm looking for a new game to supplement my addiction. I'm interested in finding a game with as many of the following parameters as possible.
Now I thought the LotR RPG may be my game, but after reading its entry on the almighty Wikipedia I don't think it is. However, a game that could take place in the LotR universe with tweaking could be cool. Any suggestions my friends? |

Anyway OP, we generally use this forum to discuss non-RPG stuff, since there are plenty of other forums for D&D stuff and even one for non-D&D stuff. Which isn't to say you were wrong for posting here, but you were wrong. And not so much because there are other forums but because the regulars here are quirky individuals (in case you didn't already notice) that are not likely to take any serious RPG discussion seriously (at least not in the OTT). |

| #6Robin_HoodlumFeb 11, 2012 10:55:51 | Chess was a good option, but I think Risk is better! Especially since one can roleplay being the General! And there are so many versions of Risk, one can easily find the version he wants to roleplay, from Napoleonic era stuff up to sci-fi space genres! And they even have a LotR version!(link below) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_licensed_R... Another option could be Loot n Scoot from Victory Point Games, or any of their fantasy games really. (link below) victorypointgames.com/results.php?catego... Hope this helps! |

And there are so many versions of Risk, one can easily find the version he wants to roleplay, from Napoleonic era stuff up to sci-fi space genres! And they even have a LotR version!(link below) I'd second Risk. I'm also a big fan of Axis & Allies, and Stratego is very good, if short. |
| #9Robin_HoodlumFeb 11, 2012 22:46:39 | I'm also a big fan of Axis & Allies, . You do know a guy made an "unauthorized" expansion (which is actually an entirely new game) of A&A, right? That is 1000 times better than HASBROs, right? www.xenogames.com/productspage.php?code=... |
| #10Count_Von_CoCFeb 11, 2012 22:54:37 | I'm also a big fan of Axis & Allies, . Nope. What I know is that WotC gave me my Axis & Allies for free. ![]() |
